I only have 2 tarantulas, and I do not have a lot of experience, but I would say no.

And I would never consider handling my pink toe. She is skittish and angry.

I do hold my rose hair though.

    Do they need exercise? No.

Can they become obese? Yes, but with that you just need to keep an eye on how much and how often you're feeding.

However, they do need adequate cage size, regardless of the fact that they don't need exercise. For terrestrials it should be about three times the legspan of the tarantula in length, two times the legspan in width and one to one and a half times the legspan in height from the substrate to the top of the enclosure. For arboreals it's different, and as long as they have about two legspans in height for the enclosure they're fine.

Crickets, meal worms, superworms, dubia roaches, pretty well any feeder insects you could find at a pet store as long as it's the size of their abdomen or smaller.

You've had one for a few years and haven't fed it?

truedatxd, take some time to do some serious studing on T's.. until i got a few, i had no clue that they shouldent be fed until a few days or so AFTER they molt. and that some needed more ventiltion than others. there not like rocket science, but there are a few fundamentals to be learned.:gj:

Ah okay haha. And they don't need to have mice ever, so if she doesn't take them then no worries, you don't have to offer them.
