Was Your first BP a Normal?
First I would like to know how many people started there collection with a Normal Ball Python. I would also like to see pictures of your first BP. When they were babies, adults, or a before and after. I think most people will agree that your first Ball is special!
Here is my first BP, Sasha!

Yes she is a normal but I wouldnt want any other snake :) Now I have a 5 year old and she is the same way LOVES snakes !!

Just wondering, why the other morph choice as Albino?

My first BP a female normal, which I thought was a male at the time.

My first snake was a normal BP. We adopted Ella from our area's reptile rescue and we've never been sorry! This pic was taken the week after we brought her home at about 1000 grams +/-.
http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/...ist/EllaMe.jpg
And this is her now at roughly 1900 grams.... ;)

Yep. A normal was my first bp (and first pet that was mine).
Haha. Had to take a picture of a picture. It was the only pic I could find. I'll have to dig around some more. This was probably 15, maybe more, years ago. At "show & tell" at school!

Yes, my first was a "wild type" but she's anything but "normal".....:D
[she's really a crazy little head trip]
The only ones weirder than her are my male Pastel who thinks he's a lap dog and my male Spider who thinks he's one of "The Flying Wallendas" far less talented siblings.
[gravity has no meaning to him]

Next bp will either be a het clown or visual clown, maybe a albino and back breed for albino clown

Re: Was Your first BP a Normal?
Yes!
Here she is, my first girl, Cu. Now almost 7 years old, and still my favorite of them all.

I got a "box o morphs" for my first BPs. I've kept various other wild type reptiles though before this.
Regards,
B

My first was a normal. Her name is Goliath (we didn't know she was a she and my son named her, lol.)
Here she is when we first brought her home in August 2011 at just over 300g (she was neglected).

And this is her in December 2011 at nearly 900g.

Don't tell the others, but she's my favorite. :D

Re: Was Your first BP a Normal?
my first was a w.c "normal". in 94 that was all there was.

Re: Was Your first BP a Normal?
My first ball python was an orange ghost
-
I got 3 at once. It's the three I own. The two pieds and the one het pied. :3
-
My first BP is a male pastel; got him almost two weeks ago now. I think he is probably around 3 months old? 26"-28" approximately.

got my first bp a wild caught male(as i was told. I was like 10-12 at the time and had no idea how to sex a snake) been keeping them ever since
-
Sure was. I got my first Ball when I was 8 (1989) because it was the only big, bad python I could convince my mother she wouldn't be suffocated by while she slept. And back then, there weren't any morphs...that anybody knew of anyway. May have been like a $50,000 Albino somewhere but that was well beyond the means of my meager allowance and paper route wages.

My first BP was a milksnake. :P:P
I ended up discovering ball pythons and their morphs through research (on this website, actually) and now I have 10 of them. ;] My first normal was number 8, I believe. I love snakes in general, so I plan on trying to branch into every kind. <3
-
My first BP was actually two at once :P My male mojave and female pastel. I love 'em both, and I may go through breeders in the future, but I'll always have those two. Getting them tattooed on my shoulders and arms as soon as I can afford it, lol, they were my first reptiles period!
-
My first was Edgar the bumblebee, a gift from my boyfriend. He got himself a female het albino at the same time and has since given her to me since I'm better about keeping up with the pet care. XD
-
no pic atm :( but my first and only BP so far is a pastel male :)

Here is my little worm Julius, when I first got him! I picked him, even though he was blue...I just couldn't resist. Best decision I ever made

Here he is this past summer, discovering grass :aww:
http://i44.tinypic.com/iz1hf9.jpg
I love him to pieces :D He's about 900 grams now, probably close to pushing 1,000 grams at this point :)

Re: Was Your first BP a Normal?
My first was a pastel that i later traded for a nice normal red tail boa.

Re: Was Your first BP a Normal?

Morris K. Nibbles, ignoring a perfectly nice pewter female:
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-P...0/IMG_4727.JPG
He's actually a het pied. I knew I wanted a pied as soon as I got started, but they were running close to $2k in 2008. Even the het pied females were $500+. So I started with Mr. Nibbles here.
-
My first was a Mojave male that I later traded (and some cash) for an Albino female.
Here's the Mojave:

And here's the Albino (recent pic):

Neat thread :). Makes me get all tearie-eyed thinking of my first BP (and first snake ever!), Draco. Got him in '99. But life got nuts and eventually he was re-homed with a co-worker. :tears:
(Really bad old pic)

Here he is with Cleo, our second BP.
http://i859.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/scan0009.jpg
Here is Norma Jean, our normal that started off our obsession again in '07/'08.

This big girl was my first. Het albino still unproven ={
-
Mine is my 1 and only albino girl. Plan on getting many more and breeding later on but she will always be my favorite even with her scar from a tape mistake when I first got her that took a nice chunk out of her belly side a few inches below her head. I could never replace her and she means the world to me. I would post a Pic but there are plenty of her in my gallery.
-
My first was a normal. Here is her last year after I had her for a few months:

And here she is from a few months ago:

Unfortunately I don't have a pic but my first bp was a WC back in the late 80's.

I got a mojo to start with. This is when I first got him- he's much bigger now. He's in shed or I'd add a current one too.
http://ball-pythons.net/gallery/files/2/0/6/9/0/s1.jpg
My second was a pastel lessor She is also much bigger now and gets brighter with every shed.

First was a sub adult wild caught purchased in 1993. I still have her today. She lays 12 eggs each time. I have decided to give her a break and not breed her this year

Re: Was Your first BP a Normal?
morphs are what set my attention to ball pythons for a minute in the first place
my bumblebee is my first and only ball
-
Why yes. Her name is Thunder and she will be 9 years old this April.. I still have her. I could never get rid of her no matter what.
She was glowing here..
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...s/IMG_7494.png
Not glowing here. She's rather dark.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...s/IMG_4519.jpg
My first constrictor however, was a male albino burmese named Archon.
