New BP Owner, first snake: Newman.

Heres my new little guy, Newman. He's a male pastel I got just over a week ago. Was fine being handled this past weekend but he is still very active both day and night. I've dialed in the temperatures without a thermostat until my Herpstat arrives. Humidity a the regular is a little low so I'm misting a few times daily. He refused to eat his first meal yesterday, so if he is out and about tonight I may try again, if not I'll wait until next Sunday. Once he is settled in I'll take some good photos.

Second last shot really shows off his colours. Congrats!! Newman is such a funny name I love it!

I think you should wait a few days, maybe even a week, before trying to feed him again. Don't want to intimidate him too much :) He's really cute! Love the colours.

Ordered my Herpstat today, and also found an Acurite on eBay for $15 shipped (no where to be found in Canada).

Going to leave him be for the week and feed again next Sunday. Pics/videos to follow of his first meal.

See I saw the name Newman and though of Paul Newman popcorn lol. Ya know... buttered popcorn? Pastel? Anybody? LOL

4 Days since I attempted feeding, and he is out and about during the day. Humidity is sitting pretty at 50% base line (I spike with misting twice a day on the glass/fake plants). Temps are dialed in at 92 hot side below the substrate, and 77-79 on the cool side (lasered at 80.5).

He was on a 7 day feeding schedule before with F/T and live alternating as far as I know.

Should I give it a shot again tonight, or do I just let him sit until Sunday? It's been 2 weeks since he's eaten as of today.

I'd give it at least a few more days...2 weeks of not eating is nothing really, and some balls can take a really long time to feed after a change in environment.

Thanks, Sunday it is. Fingers crossed my Herpstat/Acurite show up by the weekend. Temps/H is fine, but using the dimmer is annoying.

Way to take my future thunder lol my first ball python, coincidentally a male pastel, will be coming tomorrow.
