    Lost Snake!
So this morning I made my rounds to check on all the snakes, clean out tubs, etc. I had just added Crawly to the quarantine rack yesterday as my little Christmas present to her. So I open her tub, lift up her hide... no Crawly.

I frantically start pulling out all the tubs, looking to see if maybe she got out and was curled up on the heat tape. Then when I was about to go into full panic mode I notice that the bump in Sunny's tub under the paper towels is larger than normal. FYI Sunny loves to hide under her paper towels, right up against the plastic, whether she has a hide or not.

Low and behold, this is what I find...

The little stinker apparently crawled out of her tub, there was a small gap between the top of the tub and the bottom of the shelf, then crawled into Sunny's tub and tucked herself away under the paper towels. I found the pair exactly like that. I have now added the lids under the tubs, so there is no gap at all, but I can still slide it in and out.

Thank God I found her... that girl is gonna give me a heart attack!!

Lol that is cute! That's just about what happened to me the first and only time I've had an escape so far! I left my spider's tub cracked for some reason and found him a couple hours later curled up behind one of the tubs a shelf down!

They were both curled up on the warm side of the tub under the paper towel lol. I was so happy to find her there. But I gave her a stern talking to! Thankfully Sunny didn't do much more than stare at her lol. In my opinion Crawly looks guilty in those pics! She has that look like, uh oh mom found me. lol

Yay! So happy you found her! When I read the title of this post, I was like "Oh NO!" 'cause I know how you love your Crawly. Sunny is a really cute name for an albino, btw.

I would have been devestated if I had lost my baby. Crawly was my first ball python, I could not imagine losing her. Honestly the only reason I started pulling tubs was because I had watched a video on youtube once upon a time where they were showing off their clutch and one of the babies made a run for it, they found it curled up on the heat tape. So my first thought was... she is probably on the heat tape.

My second thought was that I had changed Sunny into the same size tub Crawly was put in, which meant that there was a little gap on that one too. So I freaked and thought, please God don't let them both be gone. So I pulled her tub and instead of two missing snakes, I had two in the same tub lol.

Thank God I found her that quick or I would have torn this place upside down to find that baby. My husband was actually on the phone when I discovered she was gone talking to his mother in law and I yelled at him to get off and help me. He told her we had an AWOL snake and came to help me find her only to get there in time for me to find her in Sunny's tub lol.

Thanks for the compliment on the name! I thought Sunny was a cute name for her, not only because she's yellow, but she has a pretty bright personality. She always peeks out when I look in on her, even if she's balled, I get a glimpse of those pink eyes staring up at me lol.

One thing is for sure... I will never ever underestimate how small of a gap they can squeeze through ever again!

A couple months ago my male got loose, I had forgotten to close the clasp when I put him in after cleaning. Had no idea until my daughter screamed. "Daddy Thor is behind my dresser" I looked a sure enough he was behind her dresser all curled up and nice and warm. I can just imagine him crawling around the house that night. Haha
