What price range is your next BP purchase in?
I'm curious what range of prices snakes sell best at... someone mentioned on Kingsnake that their $1000+ snakes sell the best, and their $500 and less snakes sell the worst (like mojaves, pastels, etc).

So, out of curiosity, what is the next snake on your wish list, or the one you plan on purchasing next? What price range is it in?

Me: I'm interested in getting a Spark next. It is in the $1001 - $1500 range.

My next purchase will most likely be around 1,000.

I'm planning on breeding humblebees, and eventually want to mix axanthics/pieds into the mix, so I'm expecting about a grand per snake (averaging between purchases of course).

hmm does this include purchases of multiple snakes.. for example I am planning on getting the following 3 this year mojave, lesser, Pied - together these will run me 1500-2000 but alone the pied will run me close to 1000.

so am I in the 1500-2000 category or the 1000 category? LOL

Can't wait to get me a Phantom in 2012. To the OP I believe Het pumas (sparks) run about $3000 for males not sure on the female price.

Yeah? I was wondering that too. I haven't seen any het puma that low ever. Males are still $3-3500 females $45-5000.

Going to an expo today, but I'm only allowed to spend $50 (getting a het albino male).

When I have the money, my next purchase(s) will be:

    0.1 Pastave
    0.1 Enchi
    0.1 Fire
    0.1 Lemonblast

So around the $251 - $500 range per snake.

My next purchase is going to be a desert. So $2500 for the male. Though i would like to own a female still. The male fits better into my breeding plans.

We will be getting a Desert Ghost soon. If not then sooner, then our tax return should do that for us.

My next BP will most likely be either a pied or a butterbee. Although I have a thing for lessers/butters so if I found a top-notch one, I might spend less and pick up that base morph and save a little longer for the pied or butterbee....

I'm hoping to find a nice female pastel for under $200 at the NARBC show in Arlington this February. Or a blackback cinny girl. Until I'm further along in this hobby I don't think I'll be dropping big bucks on snakes. XD

The next snake I plan to buy will cost me under $1000. What I'm looking to get is a really nice female black pastel.

It'll be a looong time before I can drop more than $1500 on a snake, and that's at my upper limit. I'm breeding for the fun of it, and not as a business so it cuts out my need for high dollar snakes (as much as I may want them, LOVING the puzzle project over at EbN). A diverse collection is also more appealing to me, so I'm having to decide between a couple species as well as my breeding projects when I'm considering new additions. Subocs, starting a CBB viper boa project, Dominican red mountain boas, RTBs, Brazilian Rainbow boa, croc skinks, BTS, and red tegu are all tied up at the moment along with a female fire het axanthic, male pastel axanthic, and humblebees as my next additions. Decisions decisions....

My purchase that I'm currently working on is a male firefly. Definitely falls in the $500-$1000 range. He will be my most expensive purchase to date.

Well I guess ill add to this thread. My next/first purchase will probably be the 0.10 normals for my phantom/desert males (future of course) which would probably be $200 at most, or my 0.1 hc albino het vpi ax and 1.0 vpi ax het hc albino "snow" pair which will probably be about $2,000-2,500 I hope.

I'm looking to add a male pastel pied to my collection next year. I'm hoping I can keep it around $2K but I'm super picky about how much white I want a pied to have and how the pattern is broken out. :D

Think our next pick up's are going to be in the 5K - 10K range. I'd like to get Desert Ghost into some projects, and also like to get some enchi Pied stuff going..

Re: What price range is your next BP purchase in?
Mine is going to be between $500-1000
BUT, I included the snake, (spider) and the Rack I am going to be buying.

And to your post, I understand why big breeders sell more of the expansive snakes, because a lot of us buy them to breed, and "lower" priced snakes IMO get seen more as pets. Either way. We have to love all of them. :) Even the Wild Types!

I want to know where you're finding Spark (het Puma) males for $3,000? the lowest I'm finding is $7,500.

Anyway, that's what I'm getting next. A spark male and a breeder YB female! Come on Pumas!

This week or next I will be picking up a double het albino pied male for $200. After that it will be in the $500-$600 range for a vpi axanthic female(het albino maybe) and either a bumblebee, honeybee or spider het albino male. Maybe a cinny and/or albino female....

I voted for the $250-$500 range since I have a lesser female that I have my eyes on. Hopefully she'll still be available when I'm ready to start collecting again! (Gotta get my tattoo finished now so new snakie additions are currently on hold) ;)

My wish list for 2012 is a super reduced pattern clown, lavender albino or an ultramel. I definitely won't get all of those this year, but it is what I'll be looking for.

I have a few planned purchases but I may decide to hold off and save up my money for something a bit nicer. Originally my next purchase was going to be a baby albino female. I was planning on getting one next year (I have a non bp purchase first) but depending on whether we move into a house with cheaper rent, I may choose to save up my money and get something in the $500-1000 range in the summer or fall of 2013.
