Got my new fridge to use as an Incubator, now debating using it!
So I was told I would be getting a broken display fridge from a guy my gf knows from work. I was super excited because he sad he would give it to us for free. Well I just got it today and guess what. The large sized Rockstar display fridge is in perfect working order. Plugged it in and instatly was super cold. SO now I am having a problem destroying a fridge that I have seen selling for $600 to make an incubator...

    Guess Im gonna keep looking.

    Heres a couple pics

I wouldn't destroy it. There is always someone with an old broken down stand up freezer or something similar. Keep it until it gives out. Nice score though

You gotta remember it may sell for $600, but you got it for free with the intention of making an incubator. Personally I would go ahead with the project.. But that's just me. Do you have use for a rockstar fridge? Lol

Holy cow I would keep it and use it! I didn't have any trouble at all finding my fridge. It's a mid sized fridge that we actually used in the garage for awhile. It's old and the drawers were broke so I got it for $15 on CL.

I did get it for free but still, why destroy something that works perfectly. There isn't a scratch on it. Plus even if i sold it for $200-$300 That's still all profit. Ill probably end up using it for beer or something.

Only thing is I have been looking forever for a display fridge. I can get a free normal fridge to use but wanted a display fridge with glass. Guess I'm just kinda picky. Ill just have to keep looking. I heard of a place in Portland that has tons of them that they rebuild so maybe ill check them out.

If you werent on the completely opposite side of the country i would buy it from you for $200 lol! I think its cool and would use it til it craps out then you can make it into an incubator. You can probably find someone on craigslist who is throwing out a fridge that you could use.

Lol I do need some cash but I need an incubator as well. Since I'm not finding any Other decent display fridges I may just be turning it into an incubator. Plugged it in today and it chilled down nicely. Just sucks cause it makes for a pretty cool beer fridge.

    Thanks for the link but

    1. the guy is injured and isnt even building or shipping them at the moment.

    2. I dont really feel like paying $425 for a 2ft X 1.5ft unit.

Plus, I need this like yesterday, my females have started ovulating and I dont have much time.

Think im just gonna use the fridge.

I kinda agree that is would be a shame to tear that up since it works.
Did you think about a cooler conversion.

Good idea except he is looking for a display fridge, he is particular about what he wants his incubator to look like.

I am thank you, however I may just have to do something for this season until I can get what I want for next season, Im also looking at the fact that the rockstar fridge wont work with the tubs I have currently, well it will but I can fit more than one per shelf so that kinda sucks.

    Sorry I missed the part.
I was just throwing an option out.
You can always cruise craigslist for a broken one.
