New Pewter - Take 2

After the disaster that was last Wednesday I am super happy with how today has gone so far. I just got in a new pewter from Jason Weinrich at Morph Jungle. She is perfect in every way and is much bigger than last week disaster. :banana:

In a way I'm glad for what happened last week because I now own this beautiful girl. :D

She's already 337g empty and I'm pretty sure she wanted to take a piece out of me as I was taking pictures. :P

When I first got into pinstripes it took me 3 tries to get one.
1. Was sold to me as a breeder. Passed away 2 months later... Necro concluded he had a heart defect. Arg
2. Arrived doa due to seller not shipping right
3. Arrived safe and healthy and still is.
Talk about a nightmare!

Your experience trying to get a pin just sounds horrible. I would be devastated to receive a DOA, but to have that be the second try to acquire a certain morph... :(

I really love that picture too but I was fairly confident she was going to tag me. She was so tense the whole time I was holding her. I thought I was going to have to pry her off my arm at one point. :P

I love the name Mist, I think that's what I am going to call her. Thank you for the suggestion. :D

Congrats! I'm glad this one worked out better for you. I'm guessing you ended up sending the other girl back. I can't imagine having to have done that after waiting so impatiently for her arrival. But I'm very happy that your breeding plans can proceed as intended now! Again, congrats! She's absolutely beautiful! And I think the name Mist is very fitting. :gj:

Lol, after the first 20 I stopped being good at naming my reptiles. The only reason I was able to name my new Dumeril's Boa is because I was looking for a "famous" couple name because I plan on getting male next year. So she was dubbed Helena and the male will be named Demetrius. :P

I love her and the name Mist fits her, thanks again for the suggestion. :love:

I did end up sending the other girl back. If they had offered to let me keep her for the price of a normal or something then I probably would have kept her as a pet, but I couldn't justify keeping her for $225. After discovering she had mites it wasn't too hard to send her back. :P

This new one is just awesome. She's bigger and I think she's prettier too, but I could just be biased. :P

I'm not sure what I want to do with her yet in terms of breeding. I want to make sterlings, but I have a couple of males who can help me with that. I have a pastel yellow belly, a pastel 50% ph ghost that I'm going to try to prove out next year and I plan on getting a pastel pied with my federal tax refund next spring. I'm currently leaning toward producing sterlings 100% het pied. :D

I'm leaning towards pairing her with the male pastel pied I plan on buying in the spring. If I end up not buying the pied I will probably pair her with my pastel yellow belly. Either way if the odd gods favor me I could hit on an amazing baby - sterling 100% het pied or sterling yellow belly :banana:

Sinatra was the same way when I got him... that little boy has an attitude sometimes, but I adore him! I think Mist is a great name too, definitely suits her. :)

I honestly think that everything worked out for the best. To me this one is a nicer pewter than that last one (I'm in love with the faded portion of her pattern :love:) and she is much bigger. Was a total win finding her. :D

Depending on how feisty she is after settling in I may rename her to Storm. :P

And since you brought him up - Sinatra is still one of the prettiest combos I have ever seen. I am going to have to take my butter to a cinny at some point, his colors just blow me away. :love:

I just looked it up, Cinny Mojave Super Pastel looks almost like a mystic potion to me. :O

I may have to add a pastave to my collection at some point (I think I'm done adding single gene anythings :P).

Even though a pastel pied would be an amazing project, YB cinnies are way too cool shoes, not to mention all the extras you could get out of that pairing. :cool: If it were me I'd go with the instant results of an amazing combo, even though I'm all for projects.

I'm trying to think of what I can pair the pied with to get the most bang for my buck so to speak. I have a cinny female that I was planning on pairing with my pastel yellow belly which is almost as good pairing him with my pewter. I'm really excited to pair him with my fire next year. Pastel yellow belly X fire and enchi X bumble bee (X2) are the only pairings I am dead set on. My spider X butter is also pretty set, but I'm starting to LOVE the lesser/butter enchi so who knows on that one. :D

Just saw your pewter and I must say she is stunning! I like her faded out pattern and wild alien heads! Very nice Kinra. Can't wait to see some of her offspring!
