    Mojave VS Lesser VS Butter
Sometimes I have a hard time telling the differences between these morphs. Is there certain things that you look at to tell which is which?

generally mojaves are darker, google "mojave ball python" and "lesser ball python" you can see the difference is pretty obvious. There are a few animals that are difficult to tell, but for the most part... not at all.

Lesser and Butter are the same morph. Like Lemon Pastels and Bell Pastels.

Wait if butters and lessers are the same morph then what's the diff? I'm confused.

The difference is the lessers came from the platinum RDR imported and the butter got imported from somewhere else. Just like every line of pastel you see out there, they all got imported at different times, doesn't make them different morphs

They are essentially different "lines" of the same morph.

They are on the same locus too I believe?

I never knew that lesser and butters are the same morph. Since they are, why different names?

It used to be thought that they may be different. The different founding individuals looked pretty different, and if you select for a certain look in your bloodline, you can get animals that do look pretty distinct. However, if you don't selectively breed, or breed both (butter and lesser) for the same traits, you'll get snakes that look the same. They also do the same thing in combos and in homozygous ("super") form. To me, there's no reason to differentiate them.
