-
I don't see a black pastel out of those 2.

:(:(:(...sad to hear that!!hahaha...:please:
-
It's number 2. Look at the cute little slender nose. :)
Very BAD photos, though, it's extremely difficult to see in those photos.

What black pastel traits do you see in No. 2? I'm still not seeing it, usually I can pick them out even in bad photos.

I just hatched 2 black pastels this season and I hate to say it, but the two snakes on this thread have none of the traits mine do. These are 2 normals.
-
Looks like two normals to me.
-
Ok first off, people need to realize that there are 3 snakes there, not 2. You clearly have no1, no2, and no3......And if I had to guess, I'd say the black pastel is number 2 since the others are too light and their pattern seems normal.
-
yeah have to agree... none of these photos are black pastels.
-
Number two. Donuts and squiggles.
-
The head shape of black pastels and cinnamons is simply different, and after you get used to that, it's not that hard to spot. There's a nice profile head shot on number 2 that shows the slender snout of a black pastel, and also the nice dark head color associated wtih it.
The markings on that snake bear it out, as well.
Folks who are confused as to the number of snakes need to look more carefully. ;)
Also the first photo of snake #2 shows one of the side blotches with a dark shadow ring above it, typical of a black pastel. It's REALLY hard to see, because the photos are dark, blurry, and from a horrible angle. I didn't see that until I looked a lot closer just now, because the head shape and color was a dead giveaway.
#2 is a black pastel, and no mistake about it. :)
-
Agreed! #2, he is a funky one though. Let's see some better pics.

Well, when you put it that way...:) Thanks for clearing up my confusion.

I have a few with donuts and sguiggles. They came from dinkers and look like those. But I think mine are "normals".

I don't think this is a black pastel, but it has the dark ring above the side blotches......

I see it.
Number 2 is a poor example of a black pastel, but a black pastel nonetheless.
The squiggles by themselves don't always mean black pastel, but added to the head shape and to a lesser degree coloration, they can tell you you have a black pastel.
