There's not too many dont's at expos but there are several do's: ask to hold reptiles, take pics of everything, chat with vendors, etc. Although, some vendors may not let you handle their expensive snakes which is understandable. It's truly an exciting experience being at an expo and so much to do.

As for suggestions... depends what you're looking for, but I assume BPs since this is in the BP forum. For some male morphs you may be able to acquire a male Pastel, YB, Spider, Cinny/Black Pastel. As for females, maybe Pastel or YB.

You never really know what the exact price of anything is anyway until you actually go, so be sure to check around at every booth and see what you like :gj:. Have fun!

Im gonna be going to my first show too, but mine is until January :( lol

I was just wondering though, is a show a great place to stock up on frozen mice/rats?
I know if I purchased them there I would save a great amount on shipping, but do they raise their prices for shows?

-Whatever your alotted budget is, take that in cash. Leave the credit cards and ATM cards in the car, or at home. The shows all vary, depending on how many vendors show up and what they have available. Browse the tables, take some photos, talk to the vendors, and have fun. If you see something that catches your eye, don't think about it for too long, it might not be there when you go back. If you do buy something before you finish browsing all of the tables, there is always a chance that you will find something else that you want just as bad. That's why I said don't take the cards. It's way too easy to blow your budget at a reptile show. :D And you will catch yourself thinking things like, "Well, if I only eat ramen noodles for the next three days, and I think the car has enough gas to make it to payday, so I don't really need to fill the tank up, and I can put off paying the phone bill for a few days...Oh yeah, I can do this." And the next thing you know, out comes the card, and out goes the budget.

Have fun first and foremost. That's great advice to leave your card at home, I personally have had the budget going into the show....only to find the closest ATM for that special animal. Depending on your intentions (breeding, selling, pet owner etc.) you can always ask questions. A lot of breeders won't let you handle the snakes unless you're planning to buy something. A lot of breeders are concerned with disease transmission from other collections. Take some hand sanitizer with you and use it in front of them, this will let them know you're conscious of that and they may be more willing. Most of them will have it too, so go ahead and ask. The list that CoolioTiffany gave you is pretty accurate on what you may be able to pick up. You could add to that list Normals, Breeder sized normal females if that's part of your plan. Its also a good time to buy supplies, set ups and stuff like that. Frozen feeders are usually available, plan ahead and take a cooler with some ice for the ride home. Have a good time.

odds might be pretty good, had a few nice females at this show but all were 2011's had a few breeder sized normals really cheap but looked on the rough side.. Thinkin I got one of the best from the best breeder there imo. Anyways i'm thinkin about roadtrippin to that one to since its 4hrs away...lol:gj:

H&T, there's an arlington show next weekend (17th and 18th), the Lone Star Reptile Expo. You won't have to wait for the Feb show, and it's smaller than the NARBC, so you'll have a chance to get used to the show atmosphere without being overwhelmed.

I know I'll be there taking pictures, even though I can't buy anything.

ill be going to the NARBC, you may find some 09, and 10's but the price will be up there because of age. Im stoked to go to an actual reptile show again like i use to go to in Cali when i lived there. these ones we have here are a joke now. Im gonna be looking for all females and about 5 of them lol

I'll also be at the Arlington show. :)

The previous Arlington show was much smaller than what I'm used to, but there was still a really nice selection there. Maybe around 30 or so vendors? I'm bad at estimating, so not sure.

Re: Going to our first show
The one back in July was at the old location so it was rather small. They have since found a new location that is much larger so the one next weekend should be better. The one in Feb. is the big one though! :D
