    Let's wallow in self-pity together!
I have a cold! I've had it since Monday, and it won't go away. So I'm feeling sorry for myself, because SCIENCE HAS PROVEN that self-pity is an important vitamin/nutrient required by the immune system.

So here's my whine: Today I think I consumed more calories in cough drops and cold remedies than in actual food. Which is okay, because actual food tastes totally gross right now.

    Anybody else?

Not sick, but I did throw out my back in the middle of Finals week. Which just ended yesterday! I'm going to be trying to catch up on the hours of sleep I missed over the last two weeks, for weeks to come. ;) I'm exhausted, achy, and keep getting migraines everyday. It's horrible. Finals in and of themselves are like a disease...they make you feel horrible. Anxious, tired, and somewhat nauseous. :P

Ugh I totally know what you mean..

A few weeks ago I got this weird bug which made me have a horrible sore throat for nearly a week (it wasn't strep though). I was put on antibiotics. Felt fine all until last Wednesday. Felt like I was getting a cold, until Saturday when my chest started to hurt. Went to the doc and apparently my meds from before weren't strong enough so then I got a sinus infection and bronchitis. Lucky me I'm put on some stronger medication and received an inhaler.

I have not been sick in literally one year up until this season, and usually when I am sick it isn't ever like this. Yeeesh...

I've been sick since the week before thanksgiving. Maybe its time to break down and see a Dr, but I don't have insurance....

I have successfully avoided getting sick, knock on wood, regardless of the fact that I have a 5 year old boy in school and my boyfriend has been sick twice since this season  We'll see how long it lasts. I am, however, exhausted. Working a lot of hours (including the overnight shift tonight) for overtime, for Christmas :sleepy:

You must have stolen my yearly bout of upper respiratory infection from me. :P Normally I have at least one in Fall, and a relapse in early Spring. So far, I've been lucky. Thank goodness. :please: But unfortunately, I've always got an inhaler. Stupid asthma. :taz:

I started working at a place with lots of parents of young kids a few years ago, and I was sick non-stop all winter. I had 4 different colds, two sinus infections, and Valley Fever.

And then I wasn't sick again for two years!

Maybe you'll get lucky, and you've already got all the awesome immunities? *crosses fingers*

I actually used to get really awful migraines after every exam week. I still get them after major deadlines. Oh, and I would sleep for 18 hours straight for several days in a row. My Mom was convinced I had mono every Christmas.

I have a UTI. I'm supposed to be leaving for Costa Rica on Saturday. They haven't prescribed me medication because they want to make sure it is 100% a UTI because I have had c.difficile and they want to make sure it isn't irritation. It's not. I have chronic UTI's and I know when I have one.
It makes me not want to go on my trip anymore. Say goodbye to alcohol (irritates it) and say good bye to any quality romantic time.
I may be a little sensitive now, and I HAVE cried over it today, but I feel that I am justified as many of you know things just haven't been going right for me this year.

Yeah, I do know. I had back surgery for a ruptured lumbar disk a few years ago. I couldn't even empty the dishwasher or change the dog's water. It was all demoralizing, but not even being able to take basic care of my pet was an especially nasty kick in the neck.

Aw, no, I hate UTIs. Did you go? Listen, if you went and you're miserable, get some baking powder at a grocery store and mix it in 1 tsp in with a cup of water and drink it every few hours. It tastes awful, but it'll kill some of the acid and make it hurt less. Also, those bacteria usually really like the acid, so this'll make them miserable for a change.

EDIT: I think I meant baking soda. Well, whichever you find first, I guess.

Sometimes cranberry juice will help kick a mild one. That sucks, regardless and sorry to hear that. Those are never fun.

I was in a car wreck that should have killed me earlier this year (7 months ago). Broke my femur in two places, my tibia in one, six ribs and bruised both my lungs. I now have a rod in my leg and walk with a limp and when I feel sorry for myself and woe is me that this happened at age 28 and I won't have full use of my leg for the rest of my life, I consider the alternative. At least I'm here to whine about it and feel sorry for myself, lol! That's not to minimize anything that anyone else is going through, as I know it's all about perspective and what might only be a speed bump to some people can be a mountain to others. Hang in there and keep at it, even if you have to take it one minute of one hour of each day at a time. :gj: Just my two cents...now I'm going to go try to run or do the Two Mile Dumba** Dash as I lovingly refer to it, lmao! :D

Heh, yeah, I figured it out. For future reference, if you see a mistake like that, you have a few minutes to edit the post and fix it before it becomes permanent. (I'm the typo queen, so I'm always having to use that option...)

Thanks, loonunit, I didn't realize that about being able to edit it. Thanks for the info, as I'm SURE I'll do that again at some point, lol!
