help with tub temps

i have 41qt and my temps and humidity are a little off. i get the snakes saterday night.
hot side:
90 F
40%
cool side:
72 F
80%
how should i fix this i have 4 holes in the sides 2 on each short side of the tub.

If u have a single tub, the best ways to heat is a UTH for belly heat under a hide and a red bulb above the tub to heat ur ambient temps. Try putting the water bowl more towards the middle and humidity should balance out

sounds to me like you have a problem with your air flow. Try poking a few more holes in all the sides. My bins took about 3-4 dozen holes before my readings leveled out to where they needed to be.

its a temp setup of 4 tubs untill i finish my rack. i will move the water dish.

72ºF is quite cool for ambient / cool end temps. I'd not worry about the humidity the cool end is alway higher than the warm. From the sound of it my guess is that your room temp is quite cool? (69-72 ish?) The simple solution is to raise the room temps up to the correct ambient temps 80 usually the best way is a oil filled heater. Racks also do best with higher ambient temps so it isn't really am issue as you will need one later anyway.

It is possible to run with out doing this but it is difficult and expensive, I run a rack in a cool room temp and unless there is some pressing reason why this is the only way I advise against it.

right now the room temp is 74 the low tub temp is 77.

77 is better generally 78-85 ambient air I personally don't really like seeing below 79-80 but that is me. 76-77 room temp likely will do it. The rack will be different when it is done so this is a temporary adjustment it is likely the rack will not have the same characteristics as the tub.

I might also add some hole too to aid in ventilation but that will change the ambient air temps too it is a hard balance.

im going to be using the same tubs they will just be in a rack vertical instead of on an 8 foot piece of plywood horizantal.

i think i might have it now. over the last 8hrs my cool side has fluctuated between 77.7 and 82.2F.

if you can get that stable at 80 you are all set.

i cant thats as stable as it will get until i have an extra $150. i will need a thermostat for the room.

got it a little better now it 78.4-81.1 thats only a 2.7 flucuation.
