    Quad het ball python????
Could this happen? Has it already happened?

Example: Caramel Pied x Albino Clown= 4 het babies??? or just a bunch of double hets that you don't know what's what?

I'm sure if this is possible, that the odds of hitting a 4 recessive gene snake would be very high.

    I was just thinking:confused:

I've only seen like 3 or 4 triple het projects. chance of hitting a triple from a pair of triple hets is 1/64, chance of hitting a quad from a quad het is 1/256. havn't herd of a a quad recessive project so far.

    They'd all be quadruple hets.

Yeah lol these numbers are correct. It would produce all quad hets, which if you bred together would give you a 1/256 chance for a quaddruple visual recessive ball python. Pretty exciting if you think about it, Im sure were not too many years off here. Eventually somebodys gonna make it.

1/256 :tears: even with retic sized clutches that would be like hitting the black ball jackpot.

im sure someone out there has had quad het snakes at some point, the most recessives ive seen in a snake at one time though is 3, it was a caramel genetic stripe hypo, and it was beautiful, i wish i could remember where i saw it

I thought that the chances would huge on hitting odds like that:O

I'm would think that RDR, BHB, NERD, and others have something cooking on the back burner. A project like that would take years and alot of luck......

yes would get quad hets... just as if you bred a super pewter x super enchi red axanthic, all of your babies would carry one copy of each gene, black pastel pastel enchi het red...... when you breed visual recessive (or super form) every offspring inherits one of those genes

I think it was Jeremy that had that triple gene on his page. He has some really nice animals. When I started 3 years ago I bought into mostly recessives for an opportunity at multi gene recessives, unfortunately I will be way beind the rest of the crew but with 1/256 odds I figure when I start hitting on some of these there wont be too many around.

Just think of what an Ultramel Clown Pied Orange Ghost would look like

And even if you dont hit the 1/256 odds look at all the possible outcomes you have from breeding a male 4x Het to 2-3 females 4x Het....

I think high order hets are going to be like possible hets; most breeders will either love or hate the idea with few in the middle. Some will obsess over the long odds of hitting the 1 in 256 quadruple homozygous but others will love the huge clutch variety and only 81/256 (less than 1 in 3) chance per egg of normal looking possible quadruple hets.

I was trying to find a way to pick up one of those VPI snow females this year and hopefully a hypo stripe or hypo pied male next year to start my quad het project but looks like I'll be waiting at least one more year to get going on that.

Jeremy mostly resells animals that come from the Bells, Reptile Industries. They are so rediculously ahead of most people in this industry its hard to imagine what they may have hidden somewhere at their place.

im trying to convince my buddy to breed his clown male to his vpi snow female for triple hets this year. any baby that comes from the het to het breeding would be sweet to have. but a snow clown would have huge genetic potential.

I suppose I'm going to have to work on some crazy multigene animals. I could always pick up some pieds and axanthics to go along with my ghost and bees.

Though to everyone who has these multi recessives, good luck! :gj:
