Spider ID needed; found in NE Oklahoma
Cross posting this in hopes of finding someone that can net me an ID.
    ---

I've been attempting to find an ID on this spider I found, the only thing I've been able to find is that it might be a wolf spider of some sort, based on the eye pattern. I found him/her about a month ago when I was coming inside, prior to a freeze. S/he has been happily living on a diet of crickets that I raise for my lizards. On to the pictures:

Not an overly good picture, but it shows off the patterning on the underside.

Judging by the shape on the fore legs around the mouth, I want to say it's a male, but the size throws me off; from leg tip to leg tip, I'd put it at about a half dollar size.

And finally, the back side. Only 7 legs, I found it that way.

Eye set is the following: two prominent, large eyes on top of a row of considerably smaller eyes.

I can provide additional information if needed.

...Because I find invertebrates fascinating? It isn't venomous, so no need to worry.

..Yes I know. I meant in the sense of being harmful such as a black widow or brown recluse.

Because some people like spiders :P Anyways I had a HUGE wolf spider that I caught, it was literally as big as my hand if not bigger and i'm 6'1. Had her for a couple months feeding on live crickets when I still had my scorpions. I caught another smaller one, thought if it was a male she could either have a boyfriend or a meal, didn't care either way. Check on them the next day and the smaller one (1/6 of her size) had killed her. I was shocked.

Hah. This thing could eat recluses for breakfast. It has no issue in subduing a large cricket.

No, that is not a brown recluse. Read more carefully.

Chocolate Muffin's probably read this post and that's why she asked if it's a brown recluse.

I would have to agree with Jeff on this one.

I caught one here at work one night and took it home. I put it in the basement to eat any other spiders down there. After two attempts to keep it down there, kept finding him at the top of the stairs, I put him in an enclosure. Gave him a grass spider one day. Must have gotten bit by it in the leg, because after I dropped it in, the wolf spider tore off one of his own legs and ate it. Then proceeded to eat the grass spider. Tough little dude. True story.

Wolf spider! <3 I'm in love with these guys. :]

The first spider I ever really got to be around was a wolf when I was little. He went into a heat vent when he was little, got fat and big on the insects in there and got too big to get out. So he'd stick his legs out all the time, lol and I used to try and pet him. (I was five. :P)

Is it fairly easy to keep them? I never considered it, to be honest, but I'd love one someday.

I haven't had much issue keeping them.
