Should the US Government Ban Pythons? PLEASE VOTE!
US Fish & Wildlife Service is considering a BAN on many pythons and boas that would add them to the Injurious Wildlife list of the Lacey Act. A move that would criminalize the actions of millions of American citizens and destroy tens of thousands of small businesses. Please participate in this easy poll to weigh in on this issue. If you don't believe pythons should be banned VOTE NO!

I voted.....but do these sorts of polls actually serve any purpose? I'd like to hope they do, but I'm not seeing it.

I voted HELL NO! We have a right to keep our reptiles, the government has no right to take that away! They need to keep their nose out of our business.

I voted NO.........if the FACTS / STATS were truly used, there is a sound documentable basis for banning dogs, cats, horses, guns etc. LEAVE OUR SNAKES ALONE ! If there ever were a proposed ban on dogs, cats, horses the citizens of the US would beat down the doors of the mayors office and there would be a march on washington full of angry , violent protestors ! BUT.....because my python is not furry and " cute " the " pet police " want to take her away. Sounds like this country is well on its way to being a place that wants total control of its citizens lives. REMEMBER: BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU ! ......and they want your pets!

I definitely think there are better ways to prevent any perceived problems from owning pythons. The only two problems I could see are if People getting injured or killed by them and then being released into the wild. The first problem, while sad if someone dies or gets injured from a snake was likely there prerogative and likely negligence that lead to it. Darwinism can only work if you let it!!! Then the second problem of releasing can only be a real problem in places like Florida and some other southern states as I doubt many pythons can survive a year in the rest of the country in the wild. For those states, maybe require people to register that they have one, so that if all of the sudden they don't have one you can set up some sort of penalty.
