I was at the pet store, and they have a red tail that was just yawning away. Snapped some pics, I hope you like them!
Just looking through them as I previewed the post, I JUST realized that boas don't have scent pits like ball pythons. Weird.

    Spitty, haha.

One of the better open mouth shots I've taken.

It's pattern is pretty faint on it's body, but it has that characteristic RTB tail pattern. I may be wrong, though.

    Thanks, everyone

I'm going to go back tomorrow and take a picture of it's butt, just so that we can figure out what it is haha. Also, she was under some sort of lighting. She looks like an albino of some sort in real life.

Ahh ok that makes sense.. It's hard to tell from that picture. I also don't own or know much about RTBs.

Lighting makes a huge difference when it comes to color, I don't think the OP used a flash.

And I thought that it looked like an albino Colombian at first (not a true BCC redtail)...but after there was doubt from some posters I started to rethink it myself! :P

Looks like an albino "red tail" (not guessing at subspecies or locality) to me. Also..is that spit/saliva/mucous in the first photo? If it was yawning excessively and that is in fact mucous all built up in it's mouth, i'd be concerned about URI. If not, then neat pics.

I was wondering about that, also. It looked and acted more like saliva would, and yawned two times. I could always ask them about it when I go back.

And they're heat pits, they detect small changes in temp, like a tasty rat, or a place to regulate. Not scent pits, :)lol

Pits are pits are pits to me, lol. As long as the snake knows what it's doing, I don't worry about it. :D

Pit vipers have heat sensing pits.
