    What would you do??
I normally feed my bp's on Friday night but this coming weekend I am expecting some company for the evening and I know their two teenagers are very excited about seeing my snakes - but they are coming over on Saturday which would be too soon to handle my snakes after eating.

Should I just delay feeding this week until Sunday but then get back on Friday nights the next week.

I don't want to disappoint the kids by not letting them interact with my snakes but I also don't want to screw up my snakes feeding schedules.

What would you all do in this situation??

    Thanks for the help.

I dont think it will kill it to wait two days. Last month I couldn't get to the pet store when it was open and I was two days late on feeding and mine was just fine :)

They'll be fine waiting a whole two days. Unless you have a pet store open 7 days a week, those of us who have to buy feeders can't all way we've never missed a day. :P

I would feed Sat. so the kids can watch after handling.

Two days to a ball is probably like 4 hours to us lol.

I don't even have a feeding schedule, LOL. I just feed when they start 'hunting', though I keep a record of when they ate last. :P

I am probably way too OCD with everything but mine are fed religously every Friday night about 8pm.

I guess they will survive the delay - I just didn't want to screw up their schedules.

I know these kids are sooo looking forward to holding them - so that will be a fun learning experience for them.

    Thanks everyone.

24 hours is plenty of time for them to sit after feeding ;)

    ^This^

Unless traveling, I don't think there is anything wrong with waiting only 24hrs. Obviously don't let them run around the house shaking them and they shouldn't get stressed out. There are many times when I have to handle my snakes before the 2 day rule. Have fun, I love being able to share my creatures with people that get excited about them.

That sounds like a great idea - I will let them hold them Saturday evening and then let them see the feeding process. They are teenagers so I know there won't be any running around and mistreating my snakes - thank god.

Getting to see my snakes is all they've talked about so I am excited to show them the hobby.

Just an update on how the visit went with the kids and my snakes.

The kids absolutely loved the snakes - it was there first time up close and personal with snakes. I even let them feed some f/t on tongs - they were amazed by the whole process.

Now they are both bugging their mom that they want a snake - lol

It was nice to be able to share my love of the hobby with young people - they were full of questions and interest.

Even their mother who was reluctant to even get near the snakes - finally gave in and actually held one - now she says "they really are sweet creatures".

All in all a great evening was had by all.
