Holy Sausage Butt! :O
http://img.tapatalk.com/a6937c8e-93ab-36db.jpg
Is this even healthy? I had never seen her with sausage butt... I'm kinda worried.
I had to skip her last meal because I couldn't come to my sister's apartment, so I was hoping to feed her today. I shouldn't, right?
Also, her last poop was on November 2nd, and she hasn't peed in like 2 weeks or maybe a little longer (she usually pees 1-2 times a week).
However, I'm pretty sure she'll be shedding sure.

Re: Holy Sausage Butt! :O
I've heard that soaking a snake in warm water and gently massaging that sausage butt will sometimes make them poop. It might be worth a try...
-
I have considered that, but if it's normal I'd leave her do it for her own

My normal female just looked like that a few days ago. I went to clean her tub (spotless since she had not pooped or peed in what seemed like weeks) and weighed her. Went to put her back and she slithered through my hand which I'm guessing caused some light pressure on her belly and out came all this poop onto my carpet!!!! :O :D
I left her alone to finish going and when I came back there was so much poop and urate!
Warm soak and some gentle pressure (basically just let her sliter through your hand) and she'll poop in no time.

Great... Now I don't want to do it

Re: Holy Sausage Butt! :O
She should be fine to take care of it on her own, just keep an eye on her for a day or two. We get so concerned about our snakes that we seem to think we need to constantly "help" them take care of their own bodily functions! I doubt there's any risk in feeding her, either, she just might not take it due to the distraction of getting ready to poop. :P

So it would be ok to offer?

I'd offer as long as she isn't acting strangely (extremely uncomfortable, etc.). In fact, squeezing her prey might take care of both issues! :O

Well, she has been extremely lazy lately... But I think that's because f her upcoming shed

Lol... She's either fat or full of ... Poop!
(I go for the second option)

Mine actually wait until I'm handling them to let it all rip......:O
On the bright side, it's easier cleaning the floor than cleaning their houses.
:D

My male Pastel just shed so I took photos and noticed his tail 'looked funny'.

About 2 minutes later, it looked perfectly normal again.
The black board I always photograph him on, however, will never be the same.

Is that just a pinstripe? She looks like a hypo pin in some of those pictures!

nah she's going to shed soon...
but I want one:please:

If you are sure that she is going to shed, i would wait until she is finished. Sometimes they will hang on to it and let it all go with the shed.

From Bill at The Reptile Crib, a local herp store;
http://www.reptilecrib.com/
He's a great guy with fantastic snakes.
My Pastel was out of a clutch that had some outrageous Supers.
[parents were Joliff line]
He's 2 and still holding his yellows and I'm hoping he'll keep holding them....:)

Soooooooo
I just went there, and since she loves daddy she gave me 3 presents:
1- PERFECT, 1-piece shed... WOOOOOOOOT
2- The best color I have seen on her (will take pics later)
3- The NASTIEST crap she has crapped out EVER! It was vomit-inducing smelly (she had never pooped nowhere near this smelly). It was black and huge! :O and lots of urates and liquid peepee
Call me a pig if you must, but I had to take a picture of it...
However, she still has her vent area a little bit swollen (not sausage butt style tho). :/

2 years?...that's stunning for a pastel that old, and something I haven't seen much...congrats.
I'll be lookin for one sometime in the future and would love to have something that keeps like that one.
You'd think I'd find a shop in the Tampa area that would have something decent, but no luck yet.
Just looked 'em up and that's where I grew up (PG county).....doh

Lmao, she might not be done with you yet!

Re: Holy Sausage Butt! :O
My oldest son learned the hard way that he shouldn't "help" the snakes shed around their vent. Let's just say he didn't expect to take another shower so quickly.

Yes and I just found out tonight he's already been a [very willing] daddy several times....LOL
Bill said he was out of the Joliff Lemon lines which I guess is a good thing.
That's why I'm fretting over finding the right female for him.
I see lots of gorgeous baby pastel females at shows but when I go check out the older ones on websites, they all seemed to brown out fairly quickly.
Is it possible that maybe his color stability would carry over to his kids?
What I love about him most is his amazing personality.
No matter what time of day or night it is, as soon as I go in the room, out pops his head and he starts periscoping and tracking me.
He is so interactive!
He watches everything I do and I swear it's as if he's saying "Hey! Whatcha doin'?" all the time.
He loves coming out and just hanging with me.
After a few minutes of exploring, wiggling and "hair snorkeling", he'll settle down either on my lap or beside me and just chill for hours, enjoying his back massages.
Sometimes he falls asleep with his head propped on my hand.
He lays there for almost an hour and I hate to wake him up, he looks so peaceful but my hand goes numb from not moving so as not to disturb him.
[I'm pretty sure he thinks he's a dog]...LOL
It breaks my heart to put him away.
He zooms up my arm or wraps around my wrist and keeps aiming his head away from his house so I can't get him in.
I think he'd just stay out forever if I'd let him....:)
Hubby thinks I'm nuts but I gave him a flat river rock for a "pillow" in front of his favorite hide.
Unless he's just eaten and is balled up inside, he's always got his head on it.
I moved it one night to change his bedding and forgot to put it back where it belongs.
I only noticed my mistake when I saw him in his hide with his neck stretched way out so he could prop his head on the rock, about 6 inches from where it should be....:)
Considering how many snake breeders there apparently are in FL, I'm surprised, too.
Except for The Reptile Crib, there's really nothing here in W.MD, either.
I have to go to the Baltimore area shows to see BPs.
