    Shop Towels
So I tried searching this topic but couldn't come up with anything.

I was wondering if those light blue shop towels would be ok? I plan on using paper towels as substrate for my new corn, and we painted over the summer and have like 10 extra rolls of these paper towels. I think they are the same as regular paper towels only thicker and more absorbent. Does anyone know if that would be bad to use or not?

Also I have already set up the tank in anticipation of the new addition and just using the UTH the temp sits at about 98, I have an extra lamp dimmer from Lowes Hardware Store that's rated for up to 300w. The uth is only 8w so it should be fine right? I have heard using regular dimmers are fine to use but I just want to make sure. I don't want the UTH to blow up or anything haha.

Thank you for taking the time to help me :)

Should be fine so long no cleaning chemicals are in the product.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the blue Scott towels, however I just switched over to white Scott towels instead cuz I notice a weird smell that the blue ones have, probably not a big deal,I was using them exclusively for a while now, but i'm happier with the white ones. . .

if the dimmer is rated for 300w then a 8w UTH should be fine

The blue shop towels you get at the auto parts store would be safe for a snake, just might get expensive if you start caring for multiple snakes.

And the dimmer would be fine too, I've even ran 3 uth's off one dimmer as a test once and they worked fine. Just don't exceed the wattage draw of the dimmer and take the time to properly adjust surface temps if using one.

Thank you everyone! Im going to switch to regular paper towels when I run out of the blue ones, we just have 10 extra rolls laying around so I figured why not put them to good use.

I am getting a male Blizzard, and I'm picking him up from the FedEx store tomorrow! I can't wait!!!
