Sick bearded dragon, need help!!!
I have a very young bearded dragon that has stopped eating and looks really thin, he also won't open his eyes and looks limp. If anyone could help me out I could really use it!!!!!! Thank you!

Describe your set-up, temps and what you've been feeding him. This information is necessary to make any sort of guess at what's wrong but you'll need to take him to a vet in order to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Re: Sick bearded dragon, need help!!!
I have a drift wood log under the basking area so he can decide how hot he wants to be, at the top it is around 100-105 and as you go down to the lowest spot it's around 95. At the other end of the tank there is a fake plant and is room temp(70 degrees). As for substrate I am using paper towels because he is so small and I don't want him ingesting anything. He is in a 10g.

Do you bathe him? Mist him? Do you have a UVB bulb? How close to it can he get? What are you feeding him? Crickets? Salad (What type)? Are the crickets dusted with calcium and vitamins? Are they gutloaded? He should be able to lay flat under the basking light not just vertical. What type of thermometer are you using to measure your temp? Is he pooping? What color and consistency is it? IS his urates bright white and hard? What are you using for a light in his basking spot? What type of uvb bulb are you using if any? This is all info you need to provide.

I do bath him, I am using a UV light that I got form the local pet store. He can get about 4 inches away from the heat, I am feeding him crickets with dusted vitamins and calcium, along with mealworms and "bearded dragon salad", I am using a temp gun to measure the heat, he is pooping and it looks normal, the basking light is just a 50 watt i believe from the pet store it's a day glow.

Re: Sick bearded dragon, need help!!!
is the light a UV, or UVB???? also, does the basking light stay on all day and night? and does the beardie need to be vertical to get under the heat light?

What intensity is the uvb bulb, 2.0, 5.0 or 10.0? Is it ia repti sun or repti glow bulb? How many crickets is he eating per day? Worms are not recommended until the beardie is atleast a year old. Same goes for the bearded salad, you should be giving him kale, boc choy or any of the other 20 or so recommended greens, veggies or fruits. His basking area should have a surface temp of 110degrees as well, not air temp. And he should have a cage humidity or about 40%.

The UVB bulb is a 10.0 and I believe it is a repti sun bulb, but I am unsure. Also he is not really eating any crickets, I have to put a piece of dark greens in front of him and he will open his mouth to eat it then I sneak in a cricket.

Unfortunetly with the vague information you are providing, the only suggestion I can make is for you to take him to a vet. And make sure to read over the enclosure setup guide and care sheets several times. Good luck.

The problem with them at this young age is that there is many reasons why this could be happening and thus the reason for as much accurate info as possible. I meant no offense by my last post, just that it would be better if he took him to a vet and provided them with a stool sample as well. They would be able to better diagnosis and hopefully be able to help the poor little guy.
