My new addition :)

Well my family has grown once again. I took in another rescue from Mike and Lindsay of The Maritime Reptile Adventure Zoo/Rescue/Outreach 2day. So i`ll make this his official intro :D
Say Hi to Anubis the Golden Tegu :D He`s prolly only a few months old. The pics really don`t do him justice ... under the light his colors are amazing ... greens and golds. I snapped these few pics shortly after i got him all set up. He came with the enclosure but i`m sure i`ll build him a nicer one very soon . I`m not 100% on sex right now but have for now named him " Anubis ". Thanx very much Mike & Lindsay for bringing us 2gether :D :D :D So without further ado here he is .....

Thanx KiteDemon. I only handle him for a few minutes when Mike dropped him off and he was cold so pretty docile. I`m gonna give him a few days to settle in, prolly offer him something to eat 2morrow and try handling him 1st of the week.
He looks to be very healthy :D

Thanx Babyknees, I got lucky in picking him up ... but he`s a handfull for a little guy ... fast like lightning and squirmy like you wouldn`t believe lol you loosen ur grip for a second and he tries to flee. Gonna be fun watchin him grow and his colors are truely amazing :D

My Red Tegu doesn't like to be handled. She has a very nice temperment but handling isnt her thing. We let her out and I'll give her a scratch on the head and that is about it. After that she will try to cuddle with my Maine Coons. Congrats on the new Gu.

Thanx Big Dave :D I`ll work with him for the next few months and see how things go. It`ll be nice when he`s grown some and i can just let him roam around the apartment, he`s just way to fast right now LOL.

The Reds are nice too ... the Reptile Zoo i volunteer with just picked up a male and female adult pair ... the people we got them from said she`s prolly gravid :D Hope we have some baby Reds soon!!

I have to admit I'm pretty jealous.

I'm hoping this next season, I'll be ready for a tegu. I want to build the set up before then, and then pick up a giant B&W from Varnyard.

Yeah Virus ... i got lucky with getting this guy ... was really unexpected and happened fast. Glad i had been studying up on them for about a couple weeks already, but i have still so much to learn!

2day was my 1st day handling Anubis ... he was actually quite relaxed once out of his tank. These pics were takin after he`d been out for about an hour already just b4 i put him back in his tank. For the 1st hour i had him in the bathroom with the door closed. I sat on the floor and placed him in my lap and let him free roam. He explored the whole bathroom, all over me and even at one point climbed up my arm to my shoulder then up and sat on my head LOL ( sorry once in bathroom i realized i forgot camera ) He was for the most part pretty relaxed the whole time except the 1st time i tried to pet him, to which he lifted himself high as he could, arched his back and made little huffin sounds lol was pretty cute . After he realized his little fit wasn`t gonna work he chilled and let me pick him up whenever i wanted, and most times when i held my hand out he would actually come over and crawl on and up my arm. All and all was a great 1st day of interaction for both of us

PS: He has also eaten everyday for me so far Even 2day after our play session!

Thanx John :D I haven`t added anything new last few days due to the fact that i think i stressed him out by handling him to soon :( so i`ve decided to let him be for a bit, atleast till he starts eating better. Just got some rat pinkies last night, gonna try him with one 2day ... wish me luck.
