Need Opinions and ID Help Please
So i picked up this 'guy' for free today. Dont know sex, previous owner called it a He but ill pop and probe in a few days. Long story short,it was a pet to previous owner. She said she bought it as a 'morph' but didnt remember what kind cuz it didnt matter to her.. she just liked his pattern. She gave him to me because she doesnt like feeding him and her roomate is terrified of snakes. So i seriously lucked out here.
Before i picked it up today, the pics she sent me made me think fire...in person, im now thinking maybe vanilla. It has an insane light colored pattern,a clean belly(with het pied lookin tracks on the sides), high yellowish sides, a slightly faded head, and these weird tear drop looking markings under the eyes that trace to just behind the head.

The lack of a head stamp turns me off from fire or vanilla, but the clearish belly is suspicious, honestly he looks like an attractive normal :) Congrats on the pickup.

I agree...Looks like an attractive normal to me as well. Could possibly be a het pied, but the markers aren't that strong and they are far from 100% accurate. Nice snake though.

Really? Thats all you guys are thinkin? The eyes are much too dark for Pastel. Even though i really dont think so,im open to the fact he may be just a het. I know hets can occasionally have off colors and patterns. At the same time though,i feel he just has too many characteristics that point away from normal.

I know all i can really do is breed him out,and i for sure plan to.

Anyways, more opinions would be appreciated. Ill try n take better pics asap. Its raining atm here in the sunshine state. Lol

I agree with a nice normal or a browned out pastel. I have a normal that looks similar to your snake, she has flames and high blushings and is very light in color, but at the end of the day she is still a normal. Keep in mind that normals can come in various patterns, shades and blushings.

I'm not seeing pastel...browned out or otherwise. Definitely not yellow belly either. It looks like a really nice normal to me. Could be het for something and that seems like an easy thing for a casual pet owner to forget. Kinda hard to prove out when you don't know what it might be het for though.

Regardless, you got a really nice looking snake. :)

I agree, def not pastel or yb. I may have just ended up with a normal dinker. I hate not knowing this guy/girls lineage. Like you said, itll be hard to prove out if i dont know what im tryin for. Could take a few years i guess. Ill start with normals, and when i aquire hets ill try that next.
Keep your fingers crossed for me that He is a She. Thatll save me sum time for sure!

Got bit for the first time today! Little bugger tagged me on the way outside. Didnt even strike, just opened its mouth and chomped my palm. I just fed him yesterday!

Anyways, took a bunch of outside pics but its overcast still so most of the pics had a dull, greyish look but heres a few that came out correctly. Now that i look at him outside,he does have a browned out pastel look to his coloring...but it cant be pastel, the eyes are black...black black,no brown glow or anything.

I'm sorry, I still only see normal there...all 3 of my normals very in shades but they have the yellow on the sides that almost give it the "browned out pastel" look. One is also really high white. They vary so much, the only thing he could possibly be is het for something.

Sorry, i dont know why the pics are appearing all these different sizes again. Theyre all the same size, but posting differently. I hate having to use photobucket. I should be able to upload straight from my phone or pc.

I personally see low quality pastel. I stick by my original prognosis LOL

Again though, pastels have those greenish eyes...comes with the pastel mutation. This guy has the darkest eyes on a BP ive seen so far. Theres only two or three flames in total on the animal, not really any blushing, and a slightly faded head. Pastel just doesnt seem to fit much.

If im lucky though, maybe i can prove out a black eyed pastel and get some sort of neat super. Lol. I can wish, right?!

I'm sorry I have to disagree with pastel. He's just not. I've seen this before and it's pretty common in younger balls. The yellowing on the sides will fade with age. I have a couple here right now that are 100% normal but have gorgeous yellow blushing on the sides. You could try and prove het out but not knowing what for could be hard.

I would start with breeding to a norm. this guy/girl is a het. as white as the belly is, and the pattern doesn't cross anywhere on the belly. Breed her/him to a norm, see what you get.:P if you get all norms, then he/she is a norm.

Looks like a nice normal. I have several that have the yellow that comes out from under the darker saddles.

Also the pics are not the best, no offense, to be making pos ids online. Lighting changes the colour of snakes so much

It wasnt the yellow that threw me off. My normal girls all have an impressive amount of yellow on the sides as well...with the exception of my reduced girl anyways. It was the belly and pattern that made me really excited. Two of my girls have a clean belly...sorta like his...but i know it can happen n mean nothing. The pattern, however, is pretty neat. All those donuts and stetching heads...idk. Anyways, majority rules...normal. Im happy either way,i still have plans to breed him/her out to try n replicate the pattern.

Sorry again about the pics. I know the flash got in the way on the first set and the second was bad due to overcast, but the first pic on this page captures the color exactly.
Ill update yall when i check under the hood ;)

Popped and probed FEMALE! Shes only about 300g though. If it was male i was thinkin i could try to breed him out this year.

While i was at it,i decided to resex my other snakes since i just got my probe kit...the nice 900g male spider i got a few months back for $100...probed female too!:D im tickled
I was wondering why a 900g male was showing no interest at all in any of my females. Lol

I'm seeing a normal. The lighting could definitely throw you off. Need some pics with better lighting, but even with better lighting I'm thinking it's normal.

Just a normal, definitely pop it and the spider over and over, probing just isn't always accurate.
We don't probe any snakes, too many times the probe will catch on something going in and stop, making you think it's a female when it's actually a male.
When I see the organs I know for a fact what sex it is, probes do not give you that guarantee, especially if your not really good at probing.

Congrats if the spider is truly a female, good score :gj:

I just realized you put up new pictures. It still looks like a normal to me. Even with a clear belly, it still doesn't look right to me for a pastel. It does look like some browned out pastels, but I'm going with normal. Normals can have clear bellies like that.

Here is a pic of one of my pastels
