If you do my homework for me, I'll
grant you three wishes!
No, but really. Because I rarely do this, I just feel the need to complain about how completely swamped I am with school at the moment!
It is crazy, although I should be used to it by now. I have many small(er) assignments and labs (which aren't even that small at all), with a couple of larger essays and presentations that have been crammed into the past 2 weeks and this will continue for the next couple of weeks. You think it'd end after that? Nope! After that, exams start!
Is post-secondary education supposed to suck the life out of you? Yep, that sounds about right.
Anyways, I'm done.
/whiny baby.
PS: Anyone want to finish my hydrology lab for me? :D

I hear ya on that one... I'm trying to do my programming homework right now, haha
-
I would love to be in school again I LOVED it! 18 credit hours a semester.......the good ol days lol
-
I'll be in your shoes soon. January I'm starting school to be an RN :)

Thanks :) I can't wait to get into it all, though I know I have a long, frustrating struggle ahead of me.

Congrats on that! Starting school is so exciting, until you realize it is the devil and will suck out all of your money and your soul.
Every year, in the summer I "CAN'T WAIT FOR SCHOOL TO START BECAUSE I'M BORED AND NEED MENTAL STIMULATION". :O
Yeah, no.
:(

ROFL.....what are you going to school for?
-
I'm in archaeology and geography. Sometimes (like this part of term) it beats the poop out of me.
Sigh! I want to go to sleep so bad, but I just completed a report, and now have a Hydrology lab to complete that was due earlier tonight.

Re: If you do my homework for me, I'll
A few months ago I had to read 200+ pages in one course alone in one week, and the material was extremely boring. Needless to say, I didn't get it all read. Sometimes coursework can become a little overwhelming at times. I feel your pain. Good luck getting through it all.
-
Try marking 200, 2000 word essays, and the day after they were due have the stream of students wanting their marks.
-
Well then those students are just *idiots* (for lack of better terms). They should know that it takes a while to mark papers.
I would much rather mark (which I have done many times before) than pump out all of these assignments. There's a limit, and my profs have crossed it.
I have given up on my readings, as well. :(
-
I just hate marking actually I'd rather write the paper than mark it. I work my guys quite hard, mine is a technical class so most of the work is practical but they have an assignment each week that should take them 6-9 hours outside classtime. My class is 1/6th of a full course load so I have a rep for having a good class but lots of work.

I can't wait to start school again, just changed my major to Veterinary Medicine, focus on Herptology. :D
It's gonna be tough.

I'm majoring in pre-veterinary Animal biology aiming for exotics.
It is tough. Good luck! Being in anything other than companion will give you a slight advantage too!

Re: If you do my homework for me, I'll
@_@ I know how you feel! I'm taking a full load at my regular college and doing a two-class/internship program to kickstart my RVT schooling. I go into the full program next year with two classes down and 300+ hours of experience towards my cert. ;] So it's all worth it!
Sometimes though.. after school and working at the vet all day I'm so pooped I don't want to do anything, but sit on my butt! lol
Horray for Vet careers. <3 I love how many people in the hobby go Vet. :> Did you guys in Pre-vet know that if you go into food animal initially you can get the maority (if not all) of your loans paid back? I think you have to promise to be food animal for at least 4 years? I'm not certain on the details, but if I decide to go past my RVT, it's the route I'm going! School is expensive! lol

It's great! There needs to be more herp lovers in the vet community. It's overloaded w/ companion animal vets. (not that it's a bad thing, but its tough when someone only has a dog/cat vet to go to when they have a snake)
I heard something about if you do food animal and have food animal experience, then you're almost guaranteed a vet school interview. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I think anything other than companion animal basically has a slight advantage because companion animal is so popular.
And I hear yah! After school + internships, I want to crash as well! :D

What school will you be attending? I originally wanted to do something in a similar field but can't seem to find any schools here in pa that offer ANY type of vet classes. I'm only 10 miles from the PA/MD line......I would hate to have to pay out of state tuition, but if I can get in for what I REALLY want to go for, I'd be willing to think long and hard about it :)

5 more years?! How long have you been doing your undergrad for?
-
Yeah, I don't miss college. :P
Good luck to everyone who is still in school/starting college. It's worth it in the end. :)

Good choice...IF you go to grad school for Mechanical Engineering, you WILL be a human calculator. I'm a 4th year Ph.D. student in Mech/Biomech Engineering and can attest to that. Don't plan on having a life if you become a graduate student in the engineering sciences...
This forum will be the most socializing you do for a long time, period. That being said, I wouldn't change a thing!

x2
A little curious about this as well? Double majors generally take 5 years total (if all goes as planned).
-
I'm in my first semester right now the issue is that my Math/Physics requirements are very different between the two so right now I'm taking 2 different 5 credit hour Calculus courses along with the. Rest of my classes. (19 credit hours total.

I REALLY wanna go to the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, but it looks to be pretty hard to get into. Among the requirements are that only 50 people from Virgina, 30 people from Maryland, and 40 "at-large" people (so 120 people total) are accepted for their DVM program. :O
http://www.vetmed.vt.edu/ that's their website. They've got other programs too, like BMVS and internships.

Okay, this may be just an American thing but, what are credit hours? People have mentioned this and I have no idea what you're talking about. I mean, I have an idea I guess, but I'm just assuming its the amount of class, in hours you have a week?
-
A credit hours boil down to how many hours of class per week each course is.
