    Single gene breeding, multi-gene babies.
Just wondering if anyone has ever bred multiple single gene males to a female and both genes from more than one male end up in a baby? I have never looked into this much so I was just wondering. Thanks.

Each egg can only be fathered by one male.

I figured that, just wanted to confirm though.

I'm not too sure, but I have planned a "who's your daddy" clutch this year so we'll see what comes out of it all :)

Well, I hope the odds are in your favor. What morphs are the possible daddies?

It doesn't work that way. One egg, one sperm.

Mystery male clutches are fun, but sometimes disappointing. But who doesn't love a mystery?

Agreed! I figured that is how it worked, I just wanted to confirm since I have never looked into it or bred multiple males to a female.

Female spider with a cinny, lesser and pastel male. Nothing too cool, but it would kick butt if I got a cinnybee, lesserbee and bumblebee out of the clutch! I know its not very likely, but nothing wrong with dreaming, right?

Oh, quick question. I hate to be a thread hijacker, but is it possible to have twins of two different morphs? Or triplets of different morphs? Ha that would be awesome!

Yup, from what I understand it is possible. I can't find the thread, but I remember seeing a case where an egg was cut, the cutter was disappointed seeing a normal looking up at him/her, but after further inspection the desired morph was sitting right under the normal in the same egg. It's rare, but possible.

    Cheers,

Yes there was a member here that had 2 different morphs in one egg, but this happens when one egg gets .. caught.. for lack of better wording ... inside of another egg. Make sense? That was how I was understanding it.

that would make them fraternal twins as well.

pastel and spider X normal female cannot make a bumblebee.

cinny and spider X normal cannot make a cinnabee.

one male only per snake ;)

How about this then. If a spider and a pastel male mate the same female, can you have spiders and pastels in the same clutch?

yes, if both males are lucky enough to sire the female's clutch :)

You can have multi-sired clutches yes. I am also under the impression you can have two fathers of two babies in one egg. I am sure its extremely rare if it happens. You can not have two fathers of one baby. If I am wrong about the two fathers of two babies in one egg, let me know!
