Hey everyone yesterday I came across someone on craigslist selling two 2011 ball pythons male and female both pastels and he said there both possible het ghost and ive been wanting a female pastel for awhile but I wanted an adult one but if these pastels prove out it would be amazing because I could get super pastel orange ghosts and eventually killerbee ghost because I also have a spider.but I just dont know because like I said I want an adult female but he would sell me both pastels for $150 so its like a cant let this deal pass type of thing.

Some things to consider.. are they brother and sister? do you trust him enough to believe they are possible het. ghost? Also they are both possible het so if one is and the other isn't, it will take you a while to find out if either or them are het ghost.

Then again, that is a decent price for what i would say are two very good looking pastels, so in the end its up to you. I just wouldn't bank on the idea of getting POGs out of it. Also if they are brother and sister I don't think you can breed them (with good results anyway). :twocents:

Edit: also keep in mind breeding size pastel females usually go for at least $500-$650. (From what i've seen lately anyway)

Hm...tough decision, those are some nice looking pastels though. I would buy them just for their looks and $150 dollars is a great deal.

The other side of this would be that there is something possibly wrong with them which is why this person wants to get rid of them for a cheap price.

If you were to buy them, definitely inspect them and possibly ask to see the rest of this person's collection and see if this person is actually keeping their animals right. If you see things that are a cause for alarm, then this person is probably just trying to make a quick buck and not it for the actual welfare of his animals and the hobby...and I definitely would not want to support that.

Yeah i know that its a long shot if there het ghost and for two pastels male and female for $150 even if there not het ghost is kinda a deal to me since i bought my adult male pastel for $150 its just a hard decision it would be cool to try and prove them out and i do want a female pastel but like i said i wanted an adult female to breed to my pastel or spider the not knowing thing sucks lol

Well i would probably get them just as pastels (without considering the poss het ghost). I love how bright and yellow they are. Again, you will spend at least around $500 on a adult female pastel.

Yeah he is also selling a male mojave,male black pastel and an albino but i just got a mojave and there all kinda priced alright the mojave is $150 and the black pastel is $150 also i dont know how much the albino was but he sent me pics of them all.He was selling them for $100 each but i talked him into doing it for $150 but i do understand where your coming from if hes not taking care of them well and just selling to make money because i do not want to support that

Doesn't the females back have longer stripes and the males is more of circles? Except for his tale..Im sure theres names for it not circles and stripes lol

I was mainly looks at the pattern close the the neck area, but now that I'm actually counting stripes and spots (lol) they do look different. Either way, I'd be sure to see these animals in person before making a definite decision.

that really is a drop in the bucket so I would go see them and "I" would buy them if they looked half as good as the pics.
I would make sure 1 is a female first too.;)
if they are het that would be a bonus but I really doubt they are

Haha yeah im not sure about them yet but i do know for two pastels male and female for $150 is cheap..But now i just came across some more Bp's and there bigger lol about 550-600 grams but they asked me to make them an offer and i don't know what to say because i don't know what they go for usually lol

I don't see the problem. This is actually fairly common practice. Even more common would be people holding back sons/daughters and breeding them back to their parents. You won't get the problems you would have if it were humans or other higher animals inbreeding.

my opinion.. good deal, you can breed brother and sister, and $150 for two pastels that look that nice is that bad. I would buy them breed them together. I wouldn't bank on them being POGs but i'll still get some nice supers out of them... Good luck

Yeah i already have a male breeder size but if they are POG than my male wouldn't work to well i mean he would but if they do prove out to both be POG it would be faster and he also said the albinos are $200 for male and $300 for female So obviously hes selling his snakes for cheap and i asked him what the parents were to the POG and he said there on the site so i can see them.

But arent they just possible hets?

Does he ship? I want a pair of albinos! :P

That's because it is a totally different snake..looks like a scam. Just look at the striping near the head, the top pic have a "fork" like stripe and the bottom one is solid. I hate CL :rolleyes:

Yeah i know.Now i know why they were so cheap,i wonder what he was trying to do because if he was thinking of robbing me lol that wouldn't of happend lol or maybe his snakes are just really bad and didn't want to show what they really look like i don't know but it pissed me off like i bought new flexwatt,bins,water bowls,i made some hides,and i started making a rack for them.I guess i'll just have to find different ones to replace those even though i really wanted them because it would have been fun to try and prove them out.Stupid CL.

Yeah thats the only good thing that came from this is im ready for new snakes lol but i made the rack for them because they were babies so its just a baby rack.So now im on the lookout for some babies lol which im already talking to people so we will see.I just want/need some females having 3 males and only 1 female isn't working for me haha.And the rack i made holds 4 snakes i made it small but i was going to make two of them just so i have ready bins for snakes that i may happend to find but there just until i make my big racks because im going to be redoing my whole room over because i like already ran out of room lol and when im done i should have 7-8 shelf adult female rack than like 10 shelf sub adult rack and than a like 20-30 baby rack :)
