    The Walking Dead
Does anybody else watch this series???

I find that I just cannot get enough of it. I used to hate zombies, was super freaked out by them. I mean I still would be if a zombie apocalypse really happened, but this series is just breathtaking. I literally just spent the last hour+ watching behind the scenes and stuff on YouTube LOL.

Just wanted to see if anyone else had an interest in this series :).

I LOVE IT!!! Did you watch season 1? The show is based on comic books, and it really makes me want to read them!

You bet I did!! I would love to read them as well.

Have you watched the Webisodes as well? There are 6 parts to it, but the vids are only about 2-3 minutes long. The last part also reveals something that you see in the very first episode of the first season :). Here's the first part if you're interested (I also really enjoy the advertisement that plays before the video starts :P)

Oh I absolutely love how they play the previous episode before the newest one, super helpful! I also got some of my friends hooked on it too :D.

I don't understand why people like this at all. I don't really like watching people getting eaten or diseased people walking around but that's just me. My roommates like it but I cant see any reason to watch it at all.

I like action movies with the gore, so this series is perfect with all that in it. But aside from the gore, there is a lot of emotion and distressing events in the show.

Everyone is different, but I also made this thread for the people who enjoy it to talk about it.

yeah, i love blood, guts, ripped off body parts, the works, its quite funny if you ask me lol, but i know its not for everyone

ive seen a couple episodes from the new season (2?), the one where they lose the girl, the one where the boy gets shot, and the on after that, but i like it. unfortunatly im never around when its on and i didnt even know about it untill a month or so ago, but it is a pretty darn good series and i really want to watch the first season so i can know what the f is going on lo, but im too sidetracked with the new Dexter, and Homeland, both are great shows IMO

I don't know what it is about all the blood and guts but it just makes things way more intense and realistic!! I just don't get grossed out by that kind of thing! Dexter seems like such an awesome series, I may look into it :).

Fair enough, I guess I can see if it has a intense plot then I see a reason. I have a strong opinion on this type of subject matter but since you wanted it to be for people who enjoy this kind of thing I will keep my 2 cents out.

dexters pretty good, it has its ups and downs, but over-all i like it. the first season is the best IMO, and then it gets like good but ehh, and then this new season is just crazy good (season 6), but its worth watching.
and if you like that, i would look into Homeland, you really have to pay attention to dialogue, but its really suspenseful and is getting really good right now that its half way through the season, since theyre finally done with all the build-up/background stuff, but it look slike there will be multiple seasons hopefully, and both are on showtime incase you didnt know

This has become the show I look forward to the most each week. It's far from just being a gore fest. The story telling and range of human emotions of the characters is very compelling.

I like the zombies but to me the show is a lot more than that. I enjoy watching their take on what people will do in a total crisis situation and it makes me think about human nature a lot. The show also has some really dynamic personal relationships which I enjoy watching play out. I am on the other end of the spectrum in that I tend to hate pure action movies. I love movies with twists that keep you guessing created by people that are not afraid to break the mold.

I've been obsessed with zombies since I was about 4 years old. The original Dawn of the Dead was my favorite movie back then (so grateful people let me like what I LIKED). This show is awesome! Only problem is all the damn commercials. I'm spoiled by all the best shows always being on HBO and Showtime, I really don't watch regular TV, it's all garbage. But I just have to deal with it, cause it's too perfect to not watch. I can't wait for the Zombie Apocalypse. Haha :)

Here's a good question for all of you, whose your favorite ;)? I like Rick, Shane, and Daryl, but they're all different so I'm not sure who would be my favorite. But if I had to choose, it would be either Rick or Daryl. I like how hardcore Daryl is with getting stuff done and nothing slows him down.

I so agree with you Walt, it's like you make a connection with each individual character because all their personalities are so different yet they all work together to survive. They each have extreme emotional ties with each other, because if they didn't they probably would have stopped looking for Sophia by now.

Ugh, those commercials kill! This show definitely gives you some ideas on what to do if something like that really happened.

In a zombie apocalypse, I'm not sure how I'd react! If a legit adult-sized scary thing was running at me and I had to beat it with a bat, I'd be flat out scared because I'm only 5'3 LOL! But since we have so many high advanced weapons and an army/military, I don't think an apocalypse would last very long.

Yeah it gets really good when there's lots of zombies and a lot of stuff going on to keep it suspenseful, such as how those hundred-some zombies walked in a hoarde through the highway and they had to hide under cars.

It's actually said to be one of the best shows on TV right now. I'm so glad that this season will have 13 episodes, last season was just too short!

It's got the gore and zombie appeal, the almost soap opera like drama, emotional people problems, zombie problems, relationship problems, post apocalyptic world problems...there is so much material there...I really want to get the comics.

It really is a great show, even if you don't like zombies...there's so many more levels to it. Sometimes I feel it needs more zombies!! Also, why is there no zombie smiley?

I like Daryl and Rick and was feeling sympathy for Shane until he showed what a royal jerk he is!! I hate Rick's wife - she really annoys me and I can't put my finger on it. Daryl might be my fav. Did anyone watch the preview for Sunday's episode?!!?!? I can't wait.

It also fulfills the things that regular every day people do, like what people keep in secrecy (such as what Shane & Lori did that the others don't know about) and the drama issues.

There should definitely be a zombie smiley :D!!

OMG I AGREE! Once I saw what Shane did to Otis... I was literally in tears. That episode made me cry a few times, so depressing! The whole scenario was just unbelievable. I can't even think about it LOL! I still think Shane is really good looking.. bathroom scene after death of Otis =:bow::bow:. LMAO!

Daryl is a great character. I love how he shows sympathy towards Carol loosing her daughter and that he wants to be the one who finds her. When he brought Carol that Cherokee Rose with the little background story I thought that was so sweet!

And I watched the preview!! I'm so pumped. Since I got a three day weekend I kept thinking tomorrow was Sunday but I just got myself too excited, looks like I have to WAIT an extra day. Ugh!!

Well, most of us wouldn't make it past the initial outbreak anyway. The disease itself would kill the most and FAST. Imagine a total plague...Military can't do anything about that. ;) We'd all be totally eff'd. Haha.

It's actually quite awesome knowing that people from the forum are watching the new episodes every Sunday at the exact same time I am. Apparently about 6.3 million people were watching the show at one time :gj:.

Yeah I'm not sure where the little girl hunt is gonna go, it's really hard to guess at. If she is found, I believe Daryl will be the one to find her, whether she's alive or not. Seems like everyone is also taking a huge liking to Daryl as well :D.

You are definitely right. But the "disease" won't spread unless someone is bitten;).

BUT (going back to the show), we don't know YET if it's caused by a virus, so says the guy at the CDC. I'd really like to see what causes the infection. And I'd also like to know what Dr. Jenner whispered in Rick's ear at the CDC. There's some funny YouTube vids of the whisper being revealed .

I must say Zombieland was quite awesome. That movie actually got me to like zombies. Emma Stone is a wonderful actress, love her style and character.

Although in The Walking Dead, they don't refer to the zombies as "zombies". They call them walkers because, says the creator, that they come from a world where the term "zombie" was never heard of. Quite interesting IMO, and the zombies in this series look extremely detailed and realistic. But I do give Zombieland props for their zombie makeup, really enjoyed that movie. I like how they had all that black goo come out of the hot zombie girl's mouth when she chewed through that clear shower curtain.

I like the show alot and have watched it since season 1 premiere but last weeks episode wasnt great by no means. The past 2 episodes have only had sparse action and I have found them pretty boring compared to the rest of the episodes, Over all its a good show I just hope it doesnt get dumb

Superb series, with action, drama, intrigue, suspense and while it can be gory it's very tastefully done. The focus isn't on the gore, instead it's on the characters, the gore is used to make it that much more vicseral (to early for spellcheck)

Those are some really great theories. My theory is that those are the bitten family members so they kept them in the hayloft because they didn't wanna kill them or let them go. Kind of like how the man in the first episode (the first person to have found Rick) had a hard time shooting his zombified wife.

I think it was juts chewing on his boot and didn't get to the skin but who knows. Apparently he's not in the comics so it's anyone's guess what happens.

Comcast has them on demand, however episode 1 is ending soon so watch it asap!

My boyfriend said he thinks he is trying to "pray" them better. I thought maybe he was trying to find a cure, but, since he's not really a scientist it's probably more realistic that it's people he knows and wants to keep "alive" until there is a cure...

    Love this show!

My boyfriend said he thinks he is trying to "pray" them better. I thought maybe he was trying to find a cure, but, since he's not really a scientist it's probably more realistic that it's people he knows and wants to keep "alive" until there is a cure...

    Love this show!

Pray them better is a good theory. I just can't wait til next Sunday. I REALLY want to see what happens.

How about the other big question. Who's the daddy? Shane or Rick?

I believe the walker was only chewing on Daryl's boot.

I also think the loft walkers are family/friends, and I think he's hoping some sort of cure will be found so he's keeping them"safe" until then.

Where the heck is the little girl? (dragging on,IMO)

Next week can't come fast enough

I think Shane. It'd be WAY more drama. But there's also the possibility that the baby won't survive...or something...they may never know who the daddy is...there's no paternity tests in zombie world. Both daddies look similar.

Agreed. I'm sick of this subplot. but I think they're using it to make Daryl human. My boyfriend thinks that the little girl Rick shot at the beginning of the first episode of season 1 is this little girl. It'd be a possible tie back because that scene seems totally random at the moment and they never showed you where that tied in to any part of the plot.

Also, what about the guy and the kid that saved Rick in season 1. Are we ever going to see them again?

And is Merle ever going to resurface as NOT a hallucination? Personally I hope not because I think him getting off that roof while surrounded by walkers and bleeding profusely is completely unrealistic and I like how the show seems to have some semblance of realism to it.

In the Comics, Shane was already dead by now and also Lori & the Baby don't live longer after she is born...

The little girl and Sophia are two different people. Rick ran into that little girl when he was travelling to Atlanta during Season 1. In the comic books Morgan eventually shows up (The guy who helped Rick in the very beginning) but in the comics it wasn't until much later.

I think the zombie was just gnawing on his shoe. I watched the episode again after The Talking Dead and it didn't seem like any chunk or tears were ripped out of the tip of the shoe as the zombie was biting it.

I love everyone's theories, it just keeps me on the tip of my toes wondering.

Oh man, I really do wonder whose baby it is. When I saw the positive sign on the test, I was thinking "Ooooo man she's in deep [poop] now!" LOL. By this point, I don't really think Sophia is alive, because if she were then she may have kept the doll as some sort of security while being lost in the woods. But who knows, we'll see soon I hope. This will be the longest week of my life!!

Awh man, don't spoil it!! That would be awesome if they found Morgan and his son through everything that's happened so far. I wouldn't be surprised if Morgan survived though, he seems like he knows what he's doing and how he's gonna do it.

I LOVE both SOA and TWD equally. Can't get enough of them. I am thinking Shane is Baby Daddy too!
