Guess what I woke up to this morning? +Picture
It really sucks because although my intention was to breed this season I won't able to get my breeding setup together in time. I don't want to risk having eggs that I can't incubate properly so now both me and my het. axanthic female are frustrated. :tears: I have a patsel het. axanthic boyfriend for her too..

I've considered this actually. I am currently putting together a DIY incubator but than I need a place for the hatchlings and I can't guarantee that I will have the money to put it together in time. I like to be 100% sure that I can properly care for an animal before I bring it in to my home or produce it myself. That's just me. I'd feel too guilt if anything died because of my husbandry.

so basically you just need some kind of rack/enclosures? i think the cheapest way would just be to get those 6qt tubs and lay heat tape on a desk or something to set them on, im sure you could get that to work (if you have the space) untill you could build a rack, check CL for plywood, thers alway people on mine selling 4x8 sheets (the good stuff too)for like 10 bucks a peice, and since its only one female thats pregnant, im sure you could get away with 2 sheets max, maybe even just one

As far as cheap goes, get yourself a garage type shelf from any Wal-Mart or Lowes. You can catch the small ones on sale as cheap as $20. You don't need anything heavy duty for a few hatchlings. Invest in a strip of flexwatt and some $6 shoebox tubs, pick up an inexpensive thermostat and there you go, a hatchling rack for around $75.

Wait so I'm confused here... You did or did not already breed her? And if you did you won't have an incubator in the next month or so?

no I did not breed her yet. I want to very much but I don't have an incubator set up or a hatchling rack and although I am positive I can get the incubator set up in time for ovulation I don't want to take the risk.

Wait, if you haven't bred her, what are you worried about? I have had some of my snakes wrap around their water bowls before, even without breeding.

    Sorry, I'm kinda confused

lol I'm not worried I'm just sad. I wish I had everything set up so that I can breed her, I'm very anxious about starting my breeding project. And she appears to be anxious also.

This is common behavior for female during breeding season. It's a good indication that they are ready to mate.
