Won a mojave in a forgotton auction!
Last Saturday morning, I placed a bid on a mojave male that was 295g on a reptile auction page on facebook. I didn't think anything of it until today when I noticed I still had the current bid at 65 bucks and there was a half hour left. That half hour went by and nobody bid on him, so I will now be getting a new mojave male on thursday! I was not expecting that at all. What had happened was until today people could post animals they were selling as well, so auctions kept getting pushed way down the page. The officially changed this rule today and no more sales are allowed on the site unless it is an auction. The new rule should prevent things like what happened to me from happening as often. Anyways, I basically get a well started mojave male for an amazing price, plus he's throwing in a normal female for an additional 10 bucks. I'm sure he was expecting more from the auction, so hats off to him for giving me such a great price on him. When your collection is still small like mine, its very exciting when you get a new morph! I have no problem purchasing single gene animals at this point in time, nor do I mind getting males right now. I think I will find it rewarding to make a lot of my combos from scratch.
This image is courtesy of Richard Cooper, the guy who posted the snake up for auction. I was happy to see he has a good guy thread on fauna. Thanks again Richard!

I will post more pictures when he and she arrive!

What did you search for? Just ball python? I know somebody mentioned finding a classified for a ball python on facebook once. I don't know where those are either. Grats though, that's an awesome deal. :D

I know Ben Siegel and BHB do facebook actions. I've won reptiles from both of them.

I'm hoping, I've seen 3 locks so far and they were all with my enchi and one of my females is pounding food. She ate 2 mediums rats yesterday and still came back looking for more. :P

I don't want to put any links for classified pages just in case its not allowed. search Reptile Classifieds - Ball Pythons. Something should pop up.

Wow that is a crazy deal! Congrats on that deal. Thank heavens you got someone reputable. Those auctions that aren't on the seller's facebook page are a little nerve racking to me, you never know if they are legit or not.

I had seen him post previous auctions and everybody who received snakes from him reported that they were pleased on the page so I felt comfortable bidding. I know what you mean though. It wouldn't take much for some knucklehead to come around and auction sick animals or animals that don't exist at that matter..

Wow! I really need to keep up with their auctions more! They had a Leopard carpet python they were auctioning off that I really wanted. But right now, until my two with RI get better, I'm not getting anymore snakes. :(

Here they are! They were a little cold but are warmed up to temp and exploring their temporary enclosures. One male mojave around 300g and one female normal i'd estimate at 140g.
