To Breed or Not to Breed.
Ok so my 0.1 Het Orange Ghost and my 1.0 Orange Ghost are coming in tomorrow and i was originally planning on breeding them. But as the time to do it is quickly approaching i'm questioning whether or not i am actually ready. The incubation im not so worried about. I would probably end up making my own incubator. However after they have hatched i am worried because i don't have hatchling tubs. So my question is how long can/do you keep your hatchlings together? (i know most say till first shed, 2 weeks-ish but im wondering if anybody does it longer.)
Another question, should i give them a week or two to settle in before i put them together to breed?

My main problem is that i'm a college student and my snakes are at a friends place because i can't have them where i live. I have a job so money isn't really an issue (building an incubator or buying other necessary supplies/materials). So if anybody has any input or advice for me that would be great. I just don't know if i should go for it or not.

Honestly you have time to get everything ready. You're not going to get eggs right away, that's going to take some time, so you can get your incubator up and running while you are pairing them. Then you have almost 2 months before the eggs hatch to get hatchling tubs setup.

Is it better to have everything ready ahead of time? Yes. Is it 100% necessary? No.

I would give them a week or 2 to settle in before you start pairing them if you do decide to breed them. :)

Kinra the problem is that i dont want to push anymore stuff on my friends, i feel bad even adding these next two snakes, so I REALLY dont want to ask them if i can put a hatchling rack in their apartment, haha. Im not worried about buying one or making one, I just dont have a PLACE for one. :P So thats my dilemma. I guess i should have included that at the beginning.

Ah, in that case the best thing you can do is talk to your friend and see how they feel. They aren't all for it, don't push it and just wait. :)

i feel like they are already helping me so much. It doesn't help that they are girls. I asked all my guy friends if i could keep my snakes at their place and they were all like "NO WAY, ew snakes gross" and then i asked a girl im good friends with and she was like "Yea! we love snakes" hahah

I personlly wouldn't breed if you don't have the space. If there are any problems and such it'll be more difficult to take care of and or know if there is an issue. Just my 2cents

I would never dream of breeding if I didn't even have a place to keep the snakes. I agree, just wait another year.

Yea i could always keep them in my room since i wouldn't be keeping them as long but then i wouldn't be able to hold any back, which i know i would want to do. So it looks like i'll be waiting for the summer at least. Oh well. That will give me time to get used to the new snakes. It was worth a shot, i was hoping somebody would have a magical answer to my problem.
    Stupid reality
