Is it impossible to get an answer from Boaphile?
Or is there a secret email address? I've already ordered from them and would like to order some aboreal cages, but I'm concerned since I never even got a order confirm from them, much less replies to my email questions!
I know people have said call them, but my hearing isn't all it used to be and email works so much better.
Suggestions?

I'm sorry, I have heard many bad things about wait times and customer service from them. I personally wouldn't order from them unless I know that I wont need the product for at least two months from the date I paid. If this was any other business this would be frowned upon, but I guess people like his product so they "deal" with it.
With that being said, keep sending emails or maybe have somebody call for you. Hopefully he will get back with you.
-
Call them and they will answer the phone. I called 3 or 4 times with questions before I orderd and they answered evrytime. This is even stated on the website. Top notch product and they will answer any questions you have. As far as the wait times, it is stated up front on the website the average wait time. I ordered a couple of months a go and was told 5 weeks. My order showed up in a little less than 4 weeks and I received a tracking number when shipped. The other manufacturers also have wait times so plan ahead..
-
Odd, they emailed me back within hours the first time, and a day later the second.
-
I did call one time, but like I said, my hearing isn't great and the person who answered seemed hurried and a bit exasperated about my asking him to repeat himself a couple of times. Oh, the ravages of age!
And yes, I'd read the entire website, saw the admonitions to call vs email and all the mentions of lead times. Those lead times were for caging, not the RHP's so I think I was justified in asking delivery times for the RHP.
And again, yes, the product has many happy followers, is reasonably priced and has good options, so I, too, will 'put up' with the lack of communication and delivery delays in order for my snakes to have a great home. I was just hoping I might get some answers to questions! :0)

Re: Is it impossible to get an answer from Boaphile?
I once ordered videos from them. I never received them. I e-mailed, but never heard anything back. I finally ended up calling them, and after a few tries was able to reach them. His excuse was that his wife forgot to send them out. This was about a month after I ordered them. I personally wouldn't not order anything from them again. There are many great reptile suppliers that have great customer service that I would rather order from.

I know this will sound superficial, but that Boaphile guy gives me the creeps.
Anyway, do yourself a favor and order from Ed Lilly @ http://www.constrictorsnw.com/cagess...ularcages.html
His cages are made of HDPE plastic, which is superior to the plastics used by other cage makers, and he keeps his prices competitive. He can build any custom size that you want too. He's always been responsive to my inquiries even though i wasn't planning on buying a cage for another year.
-
I like those cages and concept! I'm not as thrilled about the hardware, but I guess I could get past that. Especially if Ed responds to emails! Going to email him today.
-
Wow. Now that is a response! Ed wrote me back within an hour and gave me tons of info both on his cages and on why he chose the materials he chose. Ed will get my business for sure. A three cage 30x24x20 is only $640 shipped! Including casters!
To me, that's the perfect size for the chondros and my room. They have a four stack only 12" high for the balls. I can fit those two side by side on an inside wall - perfect starting point.
Thanks so much for the suggestion!
-
Yeah, that's a good price. Factor in the HDPE plastic and it's a phenomenal deal. Good dimensions for chondros too.
What was the lead time that he quoted you? I may actually need order a cage soon.
-
He said they are six weeks out now.
-
Got Jeff on the phone yesterday. He was very nice and responsive and took care of me immediately.
I'm still debating between Contrictors NW and Repti-Racks for the cages, but I'd now include Jeff in the mix.

A few thoughts I wanted to share:
1) I am a happy boaphile customer
2) I have emailed them and never gotten a response
3) I have called their phone twice and received prompt service
4) I'm wonderfully happy with their products
5) When I placed an order, they never contacted me, but sure enough 4 weeks later I had a package at my door.
I'd say give them a call (which seems to be the only way to get a hold of them, but works well), give up on trying to get them to email you. Don't fret, I've got confidence that your order is going smoothly, if not with the best communication.
-
I'm not saying Boaphile is over-all bad. It's not a black or white type thing. For me, however, it's been a really unpleasant affair.
I ordered. Got no confirmation, receipt, email or even a finger. Nothing.
I send four emails on different days to both listed Boaphile email addresses. Nothing
I call and get 'two weeks more' for the additional order, so I modify the order so it can go out sooner. Yes, the conversation was good. He knew who I was from my order. He said he'd ship it two days ago (now) and send me tracking numbers. NOTHING. No email. No product. NOTHING. WTH?
So now, what should have been a simple order on the web, ship to me order is somewhere in limbo and I, the customer, have to once again call the company. I'm sorry, but that's simply unprofessional. Whether you, Jimmy down the street, or EVERYONE else has a great experience with the company, I DID NOT.
Pro-products doesn't list the models nor prices of their RHP's online. They want to hear about the your use before they make a recommendation. People complain about that because it involves time and extra effort. Yet, I wrote them and got a long email explanation back in less than 6 hours. And with the extra time and effort you would have to put in ordering from them, you'd still have the dang thing by now!
I did order one from Helix AFTER I ordered from Jeff, had to email back and forth about the controller and it's in and outgassed and ready to accept the new occupant. And I ordered that AFTER I ordered from Boaphile.
Boaphile, on the other hand, lists everything and allows for internet orders - then simply doesn't respond! And is defended by users of their products. That type of 'service' may have been ok during the mailorder years when you ordered out of the back of a magazine and sent a check. Even the simplest of web sites offers some confirmation that you placed an order. Not so here.
Yep, I'm not happy. I could have ordered from Helix, LLL Reptiles or Pro-Products and be using the RHP and I could have picked up my other snake by now. Instead, I have NO idea if the product exists, has been shipped or when I'll see it. Not freakin' cool.

Re: Is it impossible to get an answer from Boaphile?
I just ordered an arboreal cage from boaphile and got a receipt a few minutes after I placed the order. It was something forwarded from Paypal. I take a screenshot after I pay when I order things from sites like that.

Re: Is it impossible to get an answer from Boaphile?
I've got three racks and two boa cages from boaphile and my wait time as been four to five weeks. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones.
-
Well, I got my Boaphile RHP and it seems to be well made and has a much nicer cord than the Helix model. So cheers to Jeff!
But I'm sticking with Showcase cages. ;-)
