Woot! She took f/t!
My last BP finally took f/t for me tonight.
I've been offering f/t on Sundays with everyone else and when she didn't take it I gave her live on Tuesday. So that's one less live mouse I need to pick up this week, if only I could get my Hog Island Boa on f/t then I would be completely set. :D

Nice congrats just remember she might go back to refusing f/t mine had never been fed live before, as far as I know and was told, but refused to eat until I gave her live.

Im not doing f/t anymore which sucks, but my BP would eat it like nothing then constrict and not eat 1 after another and then eat f/t agian. Wasted way too many mice for me. I dont mind the food chain but there is nothing I hate more than an animal dying for nothing.

I haven't had that problem before. I think yours might have refused due to the stress of a new home. Once mine get settled and on f/t they tend to be pretty reliable eaters. I get a refusal every now and again and have even had a 2.5 month hunger strike but they all still take f/t. :)

Yeah, I know what you mean. My Hog Island Boa killed a pinkie mouse last week and didn't eat it. >_<
I feed f/t because I can't breed my own feeders right now and it costs to much (both in gas and per rat/mouse) to drive to the store for live every week.

Grats! It is always nice when they eat, isn't it? I am still having issues with Crawly, she only takes food every other feeding and only what rats... weird, hmm? lol

It is great when they eat. I did have 2 refusals during feeding last night, but I kind of made them mad by cleaning their tubs and then offering food. I won't be doing that again, but thankfully I have enough pigs that food isn't wasted at my house. :P
Wait until you get one that is actually sensitive to the color of the rat/mouse. My cinny will only eat white rats/mice.

The pnkie is probably too small of a prey item to entice a feeding response. You might do better trying a hopper mouse. I personally started my Hog on rat fuzzies. Two live, then switched to F/t. Boas usually make the switch easier than balls do. They tend to not be as shy of feeders. Congrats on making the switch with your other snake and good luck with the others.:)

Thank you. :)
I've been feeding her fuzzy mice, but my supplier didn't have any left when I went last week so I got her 2 pinkie mice. She ate one and killed the other. She's really small and I can see a noticeable lump with the fuzzies so I think hoppers might be too big right now. She is also a really shy feeder and won't eat right away. I have to leave her alone with it over night and I don't feel safe doing that with a hopper mouse. :(
