    Your Opinion on Spotnoses?
I am just curious what everyone's opinion is on Spotnoses. Them alone, in combos, and/or their super form.

Are they another one of those underrated morphs that will become big? (such as Enchi's and Vanillas) or do you think we've seen the most of what they can do?

Would you / have you ever invested in this morph?

I personally love spotnoses. I've seen some really hot combos, the pastel spotnose still being one of my favorites.

I think they are gaining a lot more attention recently and I think there is still a long way to go with the morph.

I own a pair of spotnoses and I'm really looking forward to working with them in the future. My girl Bonnie is one of my favorites and I don't give her as much attention as I should. Being a little more of a subtle morph than say a pastel or a spider they are easy to over look. :)

Edit: Your post made me go get my little girl out. She's been sitting around my neck as I'm writting this. :P

I love spotnose combos. And I think we are only just scratching the surface from what I've seen this season. People have been posting some nice combos.

Here is my late 2010 male pastel spotnose.

Here is his brother. A super pastel spotnose that is owned/was produced by Tom Agosta. Unfortunately the flash on my iPhone made the pic a little too bright. But let me tell you he is smokin in person.

I have a male spotnose and love him. They are very light colored and busier pattern. I haven't combined him with anything yet, well besides a normal......was hoping to get a female to make Powerballs. Only got one male from her :( Maybe this year I will get one.

I have a female spotnose about 700 grams. I can't wait till next season so I can pair her up with one of my males. Now the question is which male,my SpinnerBlast or Phantom? Hmm so exciting!!

I think the spotnose is a great morph. I don't get where people think they look like a normal because they look nothing like a normal. The combos they can make are pretty nice too, and it's not a boring super.

    Currently I have:

    0.2 Spotnose
    1.0 Spotnose Albino

My plan is to make powerballs het albino as well as a few other nifty things. Another big step I wanna make with them is introducing the pied gene, ghost gene as well as a slew of co-dom genes. I'm also very interested to find out what would happen when put to a clown since they both have such busy head patterns. Not to mention clowns are typically reduced and spotnose are far from reduced. I bet it would be a killer combo.

Spotnoses don't really "do it" for me, and I haven't yet seen any spotnose combos that really do, either. I think I've seen one spotnose for sale once upon a time that I thought looked excellent, but most of them just aren't my cup of tea.

If we have seen the greatest of the spot combos, then I think I can safely say there probably isn't anything that will compel me to invest in the morph. I kind of like the calico spotnose, so maybe if I saw a female spot for sale that really caught my eye I might pick her up to start a calico spot project.

Other than that, though, I know I won't be seeking them out as avidly as female Enchis -- but then, that's a personal preference, as I like reduced-pattern stuff, which Enchi is. I'm not as fond of "busy" stuff, which spotnose is.

... And who knows -- maybe some spot combo will be created that will be irresistible and blow everyone out of the water, like the vanilla cream (vanilla x fire). I know I didn't see that coming, and that's the combo that makes me want to get into vanillas.

I'm not too familiar with the spotnose morph. Can anyone explain to me what to look for in one?

Jet black blacks, khaki/tan coloration, distinct head marking and usually a spot on the nose. I've noticed they also tend to have busy patterns, and mine both have busy bellies.

So that "horseshoe" like head pattern is distinct to spotnoses?

It's not always a horseshoe, but they all have clear head markings. My male isn't as nice as my female, but you can still see a clear head marking.

I love the spotnose and its combos!

Right now, I'm trying for spotnose x pastel. If the female pastel I have will go for it...

I LOVE the powerball, but I've read that there can be problems with the spotnose x spotnose breeding. Duckbills and kinks. Anyone else know about this?

Love 'em! Don't know if this is common with the morph, but my female is the best eater in my collection. She just hit 1300 grams... you know what that means! ;)

    Re: Your Opinion on Spotnoses?
I love 'em and got one a few years ago when nobody really wanted them. I think they might surpass the Vanilla at some point because not only do they lighten stuff up but the super form has a crazy pattern. The pastel Spotnose is awesome but I think there's a lot of untapped potential in these. Sometimes it just takes the right combo. Nobody paid attention to Vanillas much until the Vanilla Cream. Same thing with the Enchi until the Desert/Enchi, Lesser/Enchi and Pied/Enchi came out and everybody wants one now. Never underestimate a morph. You never know what combo will really interact well with it. I have high hopes for this one and I think there's a lot more to do with it, particularly with the super form.

I'm in love with the Spotnose gene and I should have some nice Spotnose stuff this year. I haven't been a big fan of it in most of the pattern combos yet though, especially Pinstripe. I've got a Pastel Spotnose going to Pastel, Spotnose, Cinnamon, Lesser, Enchi and maybe a few other things this year. Seeing the Pastel Lesser Spotnose made me change my mind on a few breedings with some female Lessers because its so nice looking.

It doesn't help my case on liking the regular Spotnose that I got probably the coolest looking female I could find!

and a Pastel Spotnose male....he's going to be busy this year!

Spotnoses are cute and imo more attractive than normals.

they're also nice to pair but i'd rather put a pastel with a spider rather than a spotnose ;)

the combos i've seen from spotnoses are awesome looking! i have no idea why i've seen so few... i want to see the combos blow up! i'm sure there's a gem somewhere in there ;p

I agree with Mr. Martin; the combos with Pinstripes and some other patterned morphs are not the greatest, but there is HUGE potential elsewhere. We've only seen one Powerball combo? I think the future is very BRIGHT for the Spotnose gene...

EDIT: The combos with Calico are proving to be awesome.

My female Pastel Spotnose is quite nice on the eyes (IMO)...
