    Enchi VS. Banded Normal
What makes an Enchi an Enchi?? Ive seen many pictures of people's "Enchis" But they just look like banded normals to me. Was just wondering what makes them different.

Enchi adds nicely to other morphs and has a super form. Banded normals are not considered an actual morph but some individuals can be genetic.

Enchi is kind of like a type of pastel. It adds color and pattern to other morphs when combined. It also seems to unlock some pretty crazy looking combos with certain morphs.

Definitely not even close to a normal. Low quality enchi's can look like a cool normal but a great enchi is obvious.

Edit; originally they were called Enchi Pastels.

Sorry, I think you misunderstood what I was asking. I was asking what makes an enchi and enchi. Like pastels have yellow coloring and green eyes. What differs from an enchi and a normal? I know they have the banding but are there other markers or indicators?

ok that explains more, so its pretty much a banded pastel.. I saw someone that posted enchi but it didnt look yellow at all. Thank you for posting your pictures.

To me Enchis look bronze, but as babies they are more yellow/orange as you can see in Freakie_Frog's pictures.

For comparison here is my reduced pattern pastel and my nice enchi male:

The color in the two is very different. I don't have a picture of my enchi in the same lighting, but looking at my reduce pattern normal you can also see the colors are not even close to the enchi.

It's not a pastel though - it was originally called an enchi pastel which caused some confusion. Over time, the pastel moniker has been dropped.

This is the best enchi I've personally ever seen.

Just like with pastels - there are different grades of enchi's. A low grade enchi will look very similar to a banded normal.

I'm hoping that enchi's don't go the way of pastels, being pumped out for the sake of keeping up with the demand with no regard to quality. As you can see from the pictures I posted before this one, that was a top of the line quality enchi, and there's no mistaking it for a normal.

Thanks, I was just checking because of a really banded girl I have. Here she is but she doesnt have the pastel colors. Her bands are outlined in white. Sorry for the pictures being so dark my phone kinda sucks, but you can see her pattern.

And I still dont know what to make of this girl. Shes really light and has a blushed head. I am dinking with her this year. Saw her link a few times with my lesser. She also has good banding.

Both just banded normals, nothing says enchi about them except that they are banded.

Yeah, I figured as much lol. Also snakesRKewl you will be happy to know (maybe not lol) that my black pastel has been hooking up like crazy with that granite I showed you awhile back. Hopefully she produces some crazy stuff.

    Good luck!
That granite should throw some killer offspring.

Though I must say, if your lesser is a nice reduced banded one, the hatchlings from that second girl should be quite the lookers! Good luck!
