im guessing it blew up? lol, i thaw under hot water, then set them on a heat pad (human type) to get them to the right temp, i just wait till theyre warm to the touch

I was just having the same problem, Mice were exploding there guts everywhere,

I was told, to take them out of the freezer night before so they can unthaw, then use a blow dryer to heat before feeding, this method has worked the best for me, gets the feeder nice and warm, and no mess

    A) Don't use the microwave, thats for people food.
    B) Like everything else, it's best to have patients. You don't need to thaw the mouse in 45 seconds. Use WARMer water not hot boiling water.... Thaw it like you would a chicken breast.

I fill up the sink with warm/kinda hot water, place the mouse in a ziplock and put it in a glass. place the glass upsidedown in the sink (tip to let the air out so it wont float away) and let it sit there for maybe an hour or less. Perfect. Then to get it up to temp, I put it in a ramekin under the heat lamp for a minute or so. gets it up to temp and scents the cage.

I just put the mice/rat in warm water right out the freezer, and wait, reheating the water every 10 or so minutes until it's the right temperture. Then I gently squeeze with paper towel to dry it off a bit. Rarely have any refusals.

Sometimes, thawing a frozen rat too quickly will cause it to rupture. It's the same principle as why an ice cube will crack when a warmer liquid is poured on it.
The two methods that I use are:
    1) Before I go to work, I will move the rats from the freezer to the refrigerator. When I get home, they are thawed and only need to be heated up before feeding.
    2) I will take them from the freezer and put them in a pan of cool water for about 30 minutes. Then warm water for about 30 minutes. Then hot water for 30 minutes.
I always use a blow dryer to heat them up to about 99-100F right before offering them.

We soak ours in a bowl of warm water so they thaw, and then right before feeding, we run them under hot water so they heat up - but not enough for a blow up. Don't worry, it's happened to a lot of us :)

I take out of freezer in morning and put in fridge. Then they are put out on the counter somewhere to get to room temperature. Then they I lay them on a heating pad you would use for your back (set on low) for about 45 minutes. Finally I use a hair dryer to heat the head right before feeding.

I put them in the refrigerator the night before I feed, and use an old hova-bator type incubator set around 98° to warm them up before I feed

I let them thaw in my snake room for about 4 to 5 hours. Then hit them with a blow dryer until they are warm to the touch. Never have had one burst on me.

this is what I do as well. Leave them in the snake room and blow dry until there aren't any cold spots lol

Yeah, I find it as the best method for me. Just takes a little patience.

I remove from freezer and thaw in hot/warm water for 30 min or until it looks ready. Then I blow dry until dry.

    Works every time for me.

I throw them in how water until completely thawed and warm. Then I blot them dry with a paper towel and feed from tongs. Works like a charm for me.

I put them in the fridge the night before. I remove them from the fridge and put them in warm water for 15 minutes or so. Right before I feed, I put them in hot water for a minute or two, blot dry with paper towel, and feed with tongs in separate tub. Never had a problem.

I had mice explode on me all the time when I first got my female albino BP but now I thaw in 2 parts. 1st in just warm tap water until the mouse is thawed and then 2 in Hot water from the tap on full hot to warm the mouse for about 30 seconds. Then dry the extra water off the mouse and feed it to my BP. She doesnt mind a wet mouse but I'm sure some would do to the divas that BPs are when it comes to food. Good luck.

Thaw in fridge overnite...set out at room temp for 2-4 hours depending on size. Feed at room temp and everybody eats...

Freezer to bucket. Bucket to sink. Fill with HOT water but NOT boiling water. Rinse and repeat until rats are soft and pliable the whole way through. Dry with paper towels. Stimulate some heat pits and BAM, ya got yourself a successful feeding. Very simple process, really.

Not to thread hijack, but a quick Q on thawing; I'm gonna be feeding FT soon(got 2 mice left to feed off) and right now she's on PK, but when thawing them out, could I possibly just leave the frozen mouse in my room(snake room as well) in a baggy or something at room temp while I'm at school(7-2:30 time total) and would that have it thawed out enough and not decomposing/stinking or something by the time I Get home to feed?

Or should I just put it in the fridge, let it thaw in there, blast with blowdryer or hold under lizard heat lamp for a bit.
(Do people use a separate blow drier than the one they use for their hair?)

I just put mine in the snake room for 5 hours or so, no additional heating after that - guess my snakes like their rodents room temperature.
