I don't have any that big but I felt like my enchi was hunting me down the other night. I had just gotten back from a buisness trip and I was opening tubs to check on them and he started coming out of his tub after me. He really wanted a rat. :P

Unless she's been striking at you I wouldn't worry too much. My 2200g female has a big head, eats like a pig and is hissy/jumpy when I touch her, but she hasn't tried to bite me yet. ^__^

I have a 3200 gram female het pied that I had traded a boa for a little over a year ago. She is everything but a pet lol. The Idiot I got her from thought it was funny to Push his four arm in her face until she would bite him to show people that it doesn't hurt :colbert:. Well it seems like (in her mind) anytime you open her cage she needs to bite in order for you to leave her alone. It gets fun trying to get her out of her cage for cleaning time. Its the only time I ever mess with her because you can tell she gets really stressed out when you open her tank. She likes to be left alone so I leave her be as much as I can.

I got a huge girl that is pushing 4100 grams. She was a wild caught import at 2700 grams and just got bigger. Shes the only snake i gave a name too and shes known as toaster oven cause her head looks like a toaster oven lol. Shes so big and muscular i swear she has shoulders. Shes a bit aggressive but the good thing about the big ones is its easier to pick the teeth out when they bite.

What's the story on your girl is she an wild caught? Do you even know?

Is she just an aggressive feeder or aggressive in general?

Keep in mind that nervousness is something that animals can feel and it does not really help ;)

my first question would be, what was her feeding schedule?
One of my 2k girls was psycho when we got her too, about 2 months later she was as good as the rest of mine;) It only took 6 large rats over that time to fill her up. I found out that the original owner was only feeding her 1 small rat every 2 to 3 weeks. Keep in mind when I got her she was 1400g and now 6 months later she is 2200g and growing.
So I would up her feeding a little more and see where things go:D

As wierd as it is to say, but I would normally be jealous.

I've always seen pics of the 'aggressive' balls that were all bluff, but now I recently picked up a western hognose, and his hissy attitude has sated my desires....for now, muahahaha!

Re: I got a real aggressive female
My big female is a real aggressive feeder too. On feeding day she's a force to be reckoned with, as soon as she smells the rat she strikes at anything that moves. After she's eaten a big rat I give her an hour or 2 in her feeding tub to relax before I move her and sometimes she's still snappy long after she's eaten. The rest of the time she's super gentle. She's only hissed at me 2 or 3 times since I've had her and I still haven't been bit yet.

My small firefly female (300G) is pretty mean...lol She is the only one too who always always strikes at me and watches my every move. It's not really a big deal because her colors are freaking mind blowing and I cant wait till she is up to size to breed:bow:

I usually just mist her before I deal with her and that gets her out of her pissy mood real fast

Aw, she's just hungry. FOR YOUR NOSE.

You know how kittens stalk your feet? When my het pied Mr. Nibbles was a juvenile he used to stalk my fingers and feet. I'd sit on the couch with him and watch him sloooowly sneak up on my toes... it was cute, but it had a predictable outcome.

Re: I got a real aggressive female
hmm my girl has hissed at me a couple times, i'm talkin' that big inhale with a long loud hissssssssss following it. but now she does what i call huffs. they're the very short sharp "SS!" she usually does it at the same time she jerks her head away when she decides she wants to be head shy. i'm trying to work on that with her, some days are better then others.
i've noticed here...alot of bites people mention, are the result of a feeding response, am i right ya'll?
i do several things to ensure i dont get a feeding bite
    1) i dont handle my girl the day before or on feeding day (& up to 3 days after)
    2) i make sure my hands do not smell like rat on handling days (now that i'm buying the feeders on feeding day this is no biggy)
    3) i keep the same routine every feeding day & i do not do that routine any other day. (this establishes a repetitive pattern so my girl understands the difference between any normal cleaning day/handling day or feeding day).
& finally during feeding sessions, i keep my hands away out of site, but ready to intervene if neccessary. (even though my girl is only taking pups now, i make it a point to always try to be ready for anything).
my girl doesnt launch out of the cage for her meals, lol & i hope she never does but whoo-wee i could see me crapping myself in that situation!

I'd hate to see if you people had some ferocious feeding snakes like burms, boas or retics.
