How much?
How much do male pastels go for?
I've found an add on kijiji for a male 09 pastel for $150. I know basically nothing about morphs, so here's where you all come in.
Are prices different when it comes to different countries?

When it comes to pastels prices are the last thing you want to think about. They vary so much in prices these days because of the incredible differences in quality of pattern and color. You could probably find a pastel male for $50, but when that male reaches adulthood he will more than likely look basically like a normal. You can also spend $350 or more on a really nice pastel.
I would look around on the forum and classifieds to see what good pastels look like as hatchlings. The more orange a hatchling has the more it will "brown out" with age. I prefer to look for high yellow with dark blacks, no orange, with really nice blushing down the back. Find something with great color and pattern that fits in your price range.
Good luck.

Prices have been dropping some on pastels and a few other morphs in the past few months, from what I've seen. That isn't a bad price, depending on a few factors: is he a "good" representation of the morph you're looking for? (compared to a picture-perfect pastel, where does he rate?) what are his background/genetics? (is he a N.E.R.D., Ralph Davis, etc. animal or...?). Ultimately it's up to you, the buyer, as to what is too high or not a good deal. If he's a top-of-the-line animal produced by a breeder with an impeccable reputation, I'd pay several times that. If he's a less-than-ideal example of the morph, I might just save my money and look elsewhere. If you're using him for breeding, I'd consider carefully: sometimes what's cheap isn't always what's good. Hope that helps and good luck, whatever you decide! :gj:

Re: How much?
Since you are in Nova Scotia...I'm not sure what the market is priced like. here they can go from about $50 on up to several hundred dollars.

Thanks everyone. I'm still new to bps and morphs completely. I do have common sense, but I still would like to learn and keep up with what's going on in the world of bps. Obviously if I wanted something bad enough price wouldn't matter (completely).

I got my Female Pastel (68 grams) born 7/25/11 for $125 at the ETHS expo here in houston the first of the month. Mind you, the breeder who sold her to me normally sells them for around 250 for a female and 100 for a male. This was at an expo and she was marked $150 and his males were marked $60. I was able to talk him down to $125 for the sake that I really wanted her...and still had to pay rent when I got home from the expo! hahahaha

Very bright solid yellows. Some blusing down the back, and VERY dark brown/black patterns.
I have a feeling she will grow up to be a great example of a pastel (and hopefully a good breeder...I want some Pewters!)

Honestly if you are not looking to breed right away/ever, you could find a nice hatchling for cheaper.
I have a nice little male pastel possible het ghost that I picked up for only $50 at a reptile show.
Here he is. He's still under 100g, but he has most of the characteristics people tell you to look for in babies (blushing, bright yellows, no orange) so I think he's going to make a pretty adult.

$85 Pastel male was 300g when I got him and didnt know any better. He IS still my goto boy though. Also being my first morph and a sweet guy helps out a lot.

$125 Pastel female about 500g after I figured out what to look for...............she is a head turner and it was a smoking deal. I have been offered 3 times what I pain for her and refuse to let this one go. It also helped that the guy needed money for rent. I paid more that he was asking because I only had $125 on me but I would have given $250 - $300 easily

Price drop every year, it's just a fact of life. Depending on who you buy from and the quality of the animal there will be a range in prices.

Shalene,
It isn't a bad price a little high maybe. Likely what that person paid for it, that being said how healthy is it and how well has it been kept? Buying an older snake sometimes comes with troubles as well. I know there were a few pastels around on sunday I thought I saw one Greg Hekburt that look quite nice for 120$. Greg is a great guy and breeds good quality animals I have seen one of his adult pastels and she is quite a sweet. I think XtremeXotics had one or two but i wasn't looking for pastels so I can't say for sure.

Re: How much?
I really don't have too big of a desire to get a pastel, I guess I just get excited at the thought of buying any snake. To me it's all in the looks; well I guess that's most people, haha. Personally I think spiders are the most gorgeous and can't wait to get a couple. Like I said, I just like knowledge, I want to know the most I can about them all. I have a feeling it will be a never ending journey of learning. I just love how everyone on here is so helpful and kind, regardless if a question has been asked a billion times. Anyways, I am rambling, thanks guys!

You might like to look for reference at http://heckbertreptiles.com and http://www.thebrassgecko.com/ for maritime pricing also you can contact http://www.uniquexoticsonline.com/ they have more than is listed on the web site including a hot little bee I saw at the show. (little biter however sometimes they grow out of it sometimes not) It is hard to find the local sites but that is a start.

prices have come down in those 2 years obviously ;)

No problem. Take a look at some lessers and mojave they are not overly expensive either and you can get them local, shipping can amp up the price so local is often cheaper. bumble bees are quite hot too I think Andrea has two males toward the end of the expo Rob was dropping the price a lot one is super clean one dark and interesting looking.

Ok, I don't normally like blushing on a pastel, but she's doing it RIGHT! Damn, that's a nice snake...
