What Thermostats do you use?

I am getting ready to build out a DIY rack system for BPs and I want to know, what thermostats are you using, do you like/recommend them, and what type of setup are you running them on?

I use ranco for hathcling racks and oild filled heater, herpstat and herpstat ND for breeders.

There are a ton of threads on this if you use the search function, but we all enjoy talking about our gear. :D

I've always used Johnsons and Rancos and never had any problems. When I end up putting together my incubator I plan on using one of the higher quality Vivarium Electronics (VE 200 or 300 series) T-stats. Next chance I get I plan to order some of the VE-100 from reptilebasics. Rich makes some quality goods. They only cost a few bucks more than the Johnsons and Ranco but they are stackable and look nicer, which is a huge plus to me and many others.

If you want Quality but less expensive, I really like Ranco.

if you want to pay a little more herpstat or Helix are really good.

Running 7 Johnsons right now for racks. And herpstat for incubator.

Vivarium 300 and a Ranco I love them both :D

Helix.

I have 4 Helix to run my racks and one Ranco to regulate my oil filled heater.

My first therm was a helix - it was easy enough to use and I just stayed with them. I've never had any issue with any of them.

Herpstats with Johnson and hydrofarm failsafes. I have nothing to complain about other than the herpstats software reporting doesn't work on macs. I might go with ecozone controllers doing it again as it will direct connect to the internet and the settings can be checked and altered remotely as well as email/text message alerts. I hate being away and not checking...

i have a hydrofarm rite now but in the next couple of weeks im getting a VE-200 so i can run 2 different size heat tapes. then put the hydrofarm on the heater and get another hydrofarm to failsafe the VE.

I am currently using a Ranco for my rack but will be getting a Herpstat soon.

I'm using helix and ve-200s. I like both and they are proportional thermostats which I prefer.

Thanks guys for all the input. I am gonna see what i find at the Mass expo this weekend and based on your feedback find the best one for the money there. I am leaning towards the Herpstat thermostat

I've got a Herpstat II ND and a Helix 1000. The Helix is on my quarantine rack (6 areas of 11" w x 12" l Flex watt) and the Herpstat is on my AP 9-slot rack. I prefer the Herpstat, personally. It holds temps better and seems to be truer to the actual temp that's programmed as opposed to the Helix. It's a little easier to use for functions and checking/setting temps but ultimately it's personal choice.

I've had a Johnsons Controls for 4 years with no issue. I just picked up a new rack and a VE200 this weekend and it seems to be working fine.

I use Herpstat and Herpstat ND for everything. Never had any issues or reason to change

currently Hydrofarm, but when I move to my new apartment, I'll buy a VE (not sure on 100, 200 or 300 yet)
