Brindle mouse?

I picked up a brindle looking female mouse from my mouse supplier when I got feeders. It is a young female. The little I read online I think it is a female sex linked gene. She is to cool looking to feed off so if anyone in VA area wants her let me know. I'll trade her for another mouse.

I've never seen a grey brindle, but I had a male orange brindle here just a couple weeks ago. They sure are cool looking.

I got a whole colony of them in soo many colors.

I highly doubt this is a sex linked brindle.

It looks like a splashed black mouse. Possibly a splashed brindle.
Where in VA are you? I'd can look at her in person and tell you for sure. :P
I'll take her too if you're near by, I'm sure I can find someone to keep her for a pet.



Richs: All of your brindles are the same 'color' they just have different amounts of marking coverage. ;)

I'm in Newport News. Like I said I just looked a few minutes online. I am in no way claiming this mouse is anything other than a cool color.

that was just 2 bins lol. theres 17 more where i have black/white brindle and grey/white. Got em all lol but nothing i work for as they just pop up.

Black and white brindles? Could you get photos? :)

None in the racks right now. It pops up time to time, Right now i have gold/brown. gold/black and black/brown brindles in rack.

Should have black whites again as group that produces them has ingredients to get more

Neat! Probably some type of beige brindle. They can look like white tigers sometimes. They're really cool. I have one here that's light cream/bone colour with tan, light brown, and 'black' (really more of a darker brown) stripes. :)

A warning. Brindles can have serious health issues, from my experience. I had a pied brindle male who, despite having a run wheel, ended up getting close to 100 grams. He was bloody huge! This resulted in him having: fat around his testicles, low conception rate, low birth count (5 pups), exceptionally strong urine (diabetes from weight?), and his male offspring inherited these traits. As soon as I got rid of him and switched to a different male, my low conception/birth counts went away.

Now, I didn't have any issues with the female I had. I don't know if it was just him and a gene he carried or what. Figured I'd just put this out there.

All brindle mice are prone to super obesity. In fact, and red/yellow mice are. It's in their genes. :P

Recessive yellow, dominant yellow, Avy brindles, sables. . . . All prone to obesity.
I have a female here that is 128 grams.

I never had issues with any of my yellows. Although, after awhile I ended up breeding for pied blacks/doves. Though, that was towards the end of me having mice.
