Anybody have a passion for high end cars?
I took some pictures of exotic cars. I love cars and hope to one day to own one of these. I'm not a pro by any means, just a teenager taking pictures :). let me know what you think.

Re: Anybody have a passion for high end cars?
There are a good bit in my neighborhood. Between two neighbors there are:
-2 Bentleys
-Porsche 911
-BMW M6
-Corvette Z06
-2 Dodge Vipers
-Ferrari 360 Spider
-Lamborghini LP640
And probably a dozen less notable cars.
-
personally i think vw golf r32`s are better than them cars :D

Re: Anybody have a passion for high end cars?
rofl me & my bf had an interesting realization the other day while out & about on the road. we saw a porsche right & for the price of 1 of them you can buy our honda fit 10 times!
we have a somewhat low income budget so we buy accordingly & our view on high end anything is that yes they're nice to have but to what cost? & what sacrifice?
we just dont see the neccessity for anything extravagantly expensive when economical can be just as sufficient for the purpose.
we're a family so our fit meets our needs & we'll never really need anything like a high end vehicle or big house or what-have-you. we have no desire for all that but we admire it & respect it (so long as someone driving a high end vehicle respects the rules of the road & the fellow drivers they share it with & doesnt have that stupid better-then-everyone complex.)
another thing is money changes people, we've seen it too many times.
dare i say money is the root of all evil? (in large quantities of course).
oo yeah, i went there, lol.

I'll shoot you a PM. They both have multiple houses, and the Ferrari and Lambo haven't been around in months. I know one of the Bentleys is still out, though.
There's also another guy nearby with a Murcielago, Saleen S7, and some other cars.
-
Hey guys, Just posted a lot more pics. These are unedited quick pictures, so they're not as nice as the main ones.

It is still very much a work in progress, though.

The only way I would buy any high end car is if I won like 150 mil in the lottery and had more money then I knew what to do with. I'm content with my mediocre cars that can put out over 1000hp if done right.....far more rewarding than a lambo which you didn't do any work on yourself.

If I won $150MM, I'd spend a good $30MM on exotics and just let the rest sit in the bank for maintenance costs. I wouldn't even bother with a new house or anything else.
And, for the record, there are plenty of exotic owners that prefer to work on their own cars.
-
Well if I was rich enough for a lambo I sure wouldn't need to do the work myself. I just find most of them overrated. The only car that I would get that's higher end is a nissan gt-r.

Re: Anybody have a passion for high end cars?
I'm into old American Muscle Cars. Exotics are kinda cool but I love being able to work on my own, and rebuild it from the ground up. Nothin like my '68 Chevelle
L88 427 with a M22 Rock Crusher 4-speed transmission.

Re: Anybody have a passion for high end cars?
I love high end cars but if i could i would get a supra and spend the same amount i could on a high end car fixing it up or a right hand drive skyline. There are alot of highend cars around me also.Like an audi r8,some porsches,a viper,a corvette callaway supercharged with 616hp top speed of 206mph,lotus elise, couple of the new gt-r's,ford gt,a ferrari, lambo merc all done up with carbon fiber rims..Those are just the cars i have pics of lol ive also seen a rolls royce phantom like 3 bentleys(think i have a pic of one of them),and also a t-rex motorcycle which isnt really high end but i love them lol

Re: Anybody have a passion for high end cars?
Have you ever seen a Bugatti Veyron? This is by far the best, fastest, most expensive car that money can buy from a dealer, does not include auctions. It's number one on a top ten list for most expensive cars in the world 2011-2012 at $2,400,000. It is the fastest accelerating car in the world, at 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, 100 mph in 5.5 seconds, and 150 mph in 9.8 seconds. Getting to 200 takes 18.3 seconds, and 250 takes 42.3 seconds. A special key is required to "unlock" the Veyron's top speed of 250+ mph. The car is then lowered to just 3.5 inches from the ground. A hydraulic spoiler extends at speed, and it can also serve as an air brake. With a top speed of 267 mph you can't beat Bugatti Veyron when it comes to speed and performance. The Volkswagen Group certified the engine to be 1,001 metric horsepower, but in actually that is being conservative and it is 1,020 horsepower or more. Its engine has 16 cylinders, essentially formed by joining two V8 engines at the crank. The Veyron weighs a hulking 4,160 lbs, but even its harshest critics admit its handling is surprisingly sharp. Gordon Murray, designer of the McLaren F1 was very skeptical of the Veyron during its development, but after driving the finished car, he conceded it is a "huge achievement." To me this is the single greatest car in the world and I can only hope that I will be able to own one someday.

Imo the veyron is hideous. Also the ones sold in the us have a governor on them so the top speed and hp is less.

Hahaha from a performance aspect the bugatti is pretty legit (and the W16 motor) but aesthetically its just not there for me, sorry :P haha

Lamborghini is and always will be my favorite exotic company.

Damn Red Devil...you must be in or around New Orleans? I grew up in Ormond...plenty of exotics over there.
For some reason I'm in love with the Ferrari Maranello....not so flashy...but still badass
-
Back in my old town id always see bentleys and RRs. A few Astons (mostly DB9s and a honest to god one-77) and maseratis. Porshes and Ferraris new and old. Some guy used to come to a pizza place my brother worked at with a Bugatti. That dude went to jail for imbeselment though. Hahaha. i even came across the new BMW M8 and 69 Mach 1.
If you ever go to Fishers, IN. Go by HSE high school and you will see Porshes and Hummers in the student lot. A kid who graduated a year under me got a Lambo Gallardo for a graduation present :rolleye2:
In the land of the crazy rich you never know what ull see.
Me id rather just have my Jeep Wrangler and a 69-72 Charger.:D

Function over form.
The Veyron sold in the states will very much do those speeds. I'm not sure who your source is on that, but the car exists here as it does across the ocean, shy a few safety features.

Re: Anybody have a passion for high end cars?
A few years ago, seeing as the kids had put the need for car seats way, way behind them, we decided to get a second car that would be fun for the weekends.
We bought a brand new 2008 911s. Arctic silver metallic with a black leather interior.
I had always loved Porsches since I was a little kid.
2 years later we sold it and purchased a new Duramax crew cab 4x4. Go figure. I love that truck more than I ever loved the Porsche.
The fantasy of owning a high end car ended up being trumped by the reality of it.

My dad is a foreign car mechanic. The epa has regulated the hp on the veyron....its still fast, but not as fast as it is ungoverned.

Slidell. There's a pretty good amount of exotics here in comparison to how small a town it is. Unfortunately, most don't seem to be taken out much.

Yeah I know this. There's a special key you have to have to unlock speeds over 250 mph.
