Busted BP deal...

I can't really complain. The guy I was working with turned over most of his collection to me at an unbelievable price. I was working to buy a few of his pastel hatchlings and was super excited to get them. Found out this morning he's decided to keep them. I'm super bummed. :tears:

What was your most upsetting busted deal?

a breeding pair of normals with everything included for FREE on craigslist, i emailed the guy within an hour of him posting it and he said they were gone:( i know this isnt the same as your deal, but i super excited because i really want to do my first breed, i pretty much went from :dance: to :tears:

I'm sorry to hear about the deal that went south.

Once a father posted on craigslist his son bought a bumble bee BP. He was pissed that he brought a snake into his house without permission. He knew the snake was worth a lot but he was only charging $80 with tank! By the time I emailed him, he had well over twenty emails. I guess some guy drove over 3 hours to pick it up. Lucky fella!

I once saw an albino female on CL for $200, I jumped into my car to get it, only to learn he had stolen it. Thankfully he was caught and the snake was returned. Perfect example of "too good to be true"

On the plus side, I'll have more cash for the Hamburg, PA expo this weekend. :D

Honestly, this was a good guy who just changed his mind; that's why I'm just really bummed, and not super ticked off.

I haven't actually had any yet, lol. I buy my snakes from expos or websites. The only snake I ever picked up from a classified ad was my rescued normal.

Either that or I have forgotten about them. :confused:

i missed out on a caramel albino pied male for 3,500 pounds by about 10mins from a local breeder was well bummed really wanted one lol:P

Every DEAL is the worst deal ever for me right now XDD

I was surfing CL for an old incubator last night and saw an ad with a guy getting rid of his entire collection. He didnt have much I wanted, but he was letting his adult female pastel go for $40! I havent been to a reptile show yet, but all the prices ive seen for female pastels have been like $200 if Im remembering correctly. Hell I paid 80 for my Normal, but that was a pet store so it was naturally more expensive.

But bottom line, I cant have more than one snake until I move. (Hopefully by February) So any time I see a great deal I would normally jump on I just die a little inside. XP

About a week ag, on a lesser bee... Already sealed the deal, was about to PayPal the money, then the guy says he's decided to hold her back. I was soooo mad!

But, whatev... Just came back from FedEx with my new butter bee!!! Pics to come. :D

I've backed out of deals and had sellers back out for different reasons. I can't get upset nothing is final till the money is sent..

I will have to say that When Matt of GHI first had his GHI's I told him I wanted one. the first year he reproduced them before the super or the combo's he call me up cause he had remembered I wanted one and offered me a female. I made the decision to pass and get a male pied and a few other things instead a decision I still regret because that female would have been breeding last year. .GRRRR .. I've passed on some pretty awesome things, Mystics, GHI, but I've hooked in to one or two cool projects too.. so it all works out.

When I went to buy my Bp (Lou) my fiance and I went to the pet store, yes I know I could go to a breeder but I have no idea where one is locally and I didnt know much about the shipping proccess at the time. anyways this lady shows up with her little brat and tells my fiance and I that shes taking the snake if there is only one. I was pissed until I saw my snake hadnt woken up yet from the comotion. I let her take the more active snake, he was a bit aggressive actually he stuck out at the pet store employee. needless to say i got the better deal on that one. i feel slightly bad for the snake because she didnt have anything set up at all.

I once found a female Blood Red Python on CL for only $75. The owner was having some type of financial crisis or something and needed to get rid of all her animals ASAP. I corresponded with her for a few days, and I was promised the animal. I sent her an email asking for an address, and the one she gave me did not exist and she stopped emailing me. Eh.
