I know there are a lot of these but... Black Pastel or not???
May just be wishful thinking but my female that I bought as a normal posible granite just shed. After she shed (mind the little shed left) I started thinking black pastel.
She has some linked alien heads, minor blushing and her head is light brown. All of my other normal females have dark colored heads. Her belly is also clean with no black but like a sandy colored stripe down the center.
I apologize in advance for the pictures as I was using my cell phone but I took several so you can see different lighting ect.
Even if she is not a black pastel still super thrilled with her just thought I would ask as she will be breeding this year and who wouldnt love a shot at super blacks?
Anyway thank you for your time forum, as alaways your comments are appreciated.

Re: I know there are a lot of these but... Black Pastel or not???
I have looked at literally 100+ pictures of black pastels and every one is defferent. I have seen lower end black pastels that looked similar so thats why I asked.
I will probably end up putting her with a black pastel anyway just for the heck of it.

Her belly has been like that since ive had her. I used to keep them on paper towels and her belly was the same.

and I do appreciate the input. I dont like using aspen shavings and paper towels got to bea lot of work to change out whenever they spilled water or anything else.
I figured I know a lot of people who use the bark and figured it might be a little better.
Do you have any suggestions then on something to use. I just know the if you get a bad batch of aspen you can get mites, and thats not really something I want to deal with.

For the Ball Pythons, I simply use newspaper or paper towels... easy to clean, no dust or mold, and they don't really care about burrowing. For the burrowing snakes in my collection (colubrids and a couple Aussie Pythons), I use Carefresh since I'm allergic to wood-based beddings. Some people don't like Carefresh because it's a little dusty, but I personally think it's great stuff! You just have to be on top of spot-cleaning, or it can develop mold around the soiled spots.

He's actually spoken for already (as part of a trade with a friend, for an Orange Ghost baby), but that was my first thought on seeing your girl... so you should try to find her a nice dark mate, and then breed her back to any similar males produced. Could make some very cool babies! :)
yeah she will be paired with a black pastel this season.
