    Tinley pick up...Desert female
Just wanted to post a quick pic of the desert female I picked up in Tinley. She is from Anthony Mccain and a daughter to the male tiger I got from him as well. She is really nice clean and bright.

Why a female? I wouldn't take the risk.

ive seen a lot on here they have a lot of issues breeding... either produce all slugs or no eggs... something along those lines...

I wish you best of luck with your little desert! I picked up a female tiger so I'm hoping no breeding problems either :snake:

While im not trying to turn this into a debate on wether or not the females breed I will address it with my opinion..I think they simply need a little more age and possibly weight than we are used to. There are a few other theorys also based on cooler temps. After talking to several people about them I feel a little better. And to answer the question on WHY a female?....Well because I already have a tiger (Enchi x desert) male. Someone will figure out the females and then the desert project will be hotter than it already is...Thanks to everyone for the comments.

Beautiful girl, congrats! :gj: I personally think that right now a Desert female is a good investment.

I don't think their is a risk taken at all, the Desert just needs more time to get figured out. Pro Exotics had some luck breeding them as well as other breeders. Honestly, I feel your comment should have been kept to yourself.

Awesome pick up! I was looking at those Deserts and wishing I had the cash in my pocket! Its amazing what a Desert can do to any morph.
This problem mentioned earlier with females, is this why males cost more that females? Usually its the other way around.

It is because they are a dominant gene morph. You can breed males sooner and more often, even a Desert male bred to a Normal female you have a 50% chance of every egg being a Desert.

Once we figure out how to get the females to lay good eggs, the price on them will double or triple. Might as well load up now while you can get them at a low price.

    Nice pickup....

Being a dominant morph, I don't think price will get any higher than it already is.
