    Got 5 new babies today
The puppies are 10 days old today, the owner called me today and said that the mom was acting funny and shivering/twitching, and that she had vomited twice.
I asked if maybe she had gotten into anything poisonous, she said no.
I told her to not let the puppies nurse until she found out what was going on, after no signs of improvement this morning, I told her to take the dog to the emergency clinic. There she was diagnosed with eclampsia & calcium deficiency, which was causing her to have heart arrythmias.
Needless to say, no more nursing for her. The dogs owner asked if I would care for the puppies, I said yes because one is to be mine, and I did trust their care to anyone else. So now I am caring for 5 puppies, and my cousins dog who has been with me a month already, but he goes home Wed. lol
    Anywho, here are some pics

very cute puppies but i do not envy you at all. having to wake up every coule hours to feed them is a pain the arse. we had to hand raise a few litters when i was growing up and those 6 to 8 weeks really took a tole on us...
    good luck

SOO cute!! Lol but they're not quite so adorable when you're getting up throughout the night to feed them huh. :P Last summer I hand-raised 2-day-old kittens whose mother rejected them. Not exactly a small responsibility hah.

Good luck with them! Keep us updated with pics!!

lol Adam, tell me about it! But the vet said that if I fed them 6 times during the day they will be fine during the night, and the whole stimulation during and after feedings :O so I have lots of pee towels & baby wipes on hand.

Wow they are so cute. I am SO glad they are yours ;) My mom's dog had a litter and we had to bottle feed them for about a week and that was a LONG week. They are lucky to have you.

    ****Update****
Have switched from store bought puppy formula to a home made goats milk formula, the puppies seem to like it alot better, and they are moving their bowels after every feeding today.

They are becoming more active, one is trying to bark :)

Other than my lack of sleep, and their daily laudry, they are an absolute joy!!!!

Ok I so give up on the video!
Any who, they are all pooping on their own, joy joy. They can manage to crawl tumble out of the pool. I ordered this soft sided play yard for them

    Grrrrrrrrrrr
I feel soooo bad, now that the puppies are pooping on their own, I have been cleaning up messes and wiping bottoms etc as needed. Bently the largest pup, looked as if he were having a hard time going poo, I knew he couldn't be constipated, when I checked his bottom, it was essentially plugged! poo had dried in his fur so he couldn't go :O, after 5 minutes of wiping with a wet warm towel, he's all cleaned up, and I clipped the fur all around the rectal opening. I feel soooooo bad for him, his poor tummy must be upset.

Here is a pic of him from the 13th he was 2 weeks old. He looks like a little stuffed bear

    Question???
Is there an easy way to clip their nails? I try to do it while their are alseep, but as soon as I start they wake up & start squirming around lol, I try to file them also while they are feeding. Maybe I'll borrow my sons pedi paws.
