I'll be there as usual. Justin Kobylka is Vending this show so everyone should come if only to check out his neato stuff!
-
I'm going, hopefully. It'll be my first show as well.
-
Re: Atlanta Repticon
I will be there Saturday. I need an adult/juvie rack.
-
Also it would be nice if the web site would update the vendor list. It's less than 2 weeks away and there's still no list.
-
I'll be there on one of the days!
-
Oh wow, i wasn't expecting this much of a response, this is awesome :D
Glad i won't be the only one there :P So is the Atlanta Repticon usually a good sized show?

Re: Atlanta Repticon
I've never been to another show so I can't say but from what I've read it's a medium sized show.

Great, i'm super excited. I will be there at least Saturday, and Possibly Sunday. I don't know what im going to buy but i will definitely leave with something:colbert: I'm thinking a Brazilian Rainbow Boa though.

Re: Atlanta Repticon
You just can't go and not get anything. That never works out. I went last time to get rack. Ended up getting a rack and a spider. Hopefully I can stick to my plans this time.

Re: Atlanta Repticon
I'll be there both days. Goal is to just buy 1.1 100% het piebalds from Justin Kobylka. I might need to bring as little cash as possible, i am sure the temptations will be to great.

Only if you're a vendor with a table.

Why is it a shame? It's a reptile show, not a dog show. I really don't want to be manuvering around dogs as well as people. I'm not there to see your dog (your being anyone's), and I see no reason for anyone to bring their dog, other than the paying vendors who may have brought their dog with them.

:colbert::colbert: im not even going there. my dog manuvers around people,,, your kid ( yours being anyones) runs around, spills drinks, screams and cries when there tired of something, pushes there way infrount of you as if they got more than 5cents in there pocket. and the strolers (some being the size of economy cars takes up waaaayyy too much room... but like i said,, :colbert::colbert: im not going there.

No - I don't have kids. But again - why would someone want to bring their dogs to a reptile show? You didn't answer that.
And for the record, I have a dog, and I also work with Canine Assistants - http://www.canineassistants.org - that trains service dogs for the physically disabled, so I am often in public places with a service dog, and have one at work with me. So I don't have an aversion to dogs.
I just think that there's no reason why someone attending a reptile show would be disappointed that they can't bring their pet dog into the show.
Enlighten me.

Re: Atlanta Repticon
please forgive me,,, i was under the impression that you were some kind of dog hater:oops:. givin your history with dogs,, you should know better than anyone how a obedient dog proforms.... now, saying that,, to answer your question. not too long ago, i moved to a very small town in south ga.. Atlanta is about 3 hours from me... i dont know anyone here (where i live) and my dogs are inside dogs. im not going to leave my dogs inside for 12 or 14 hours alone not being able to pee. you might say "why not just rent a room for the night and bring them with you",, to answer that, im also not leaving my dog in a hotel room alone for 7 or 8 hours (am not sure if he would bark the whole time and that would be disrespectful to others). so im kinda stuck... my dogs are in many ways like my kids,,,,, except there better manered than most kids (as mentioned above).

Do you have a friend who can come by and walk your dogs while you are gone? My neighbor has a key to my apartment, and I'll call her to come grab Diamond if I know I'm going to be gone all day, and she'll come get her when she's taking her own dogs out.
I live less than an hour away from the show - but we ARE getting a room closer to the show this weekend, because we want to hang out with reptile friends after the show, and we can run to the room a few times during the day and again before we go hang out, rather than drive all the way home a few times a day.
Love LaQuinta - our dog goes to out of state reptile shows with us, and she does great. She's only been boarded one time in her 12 years, and we decided after that, she wouldn't be boarded again, and we'd find pet friendly hotels and take her with us. One time we left her home for the weekend, and my same neighbor came over multiple times a day to walk her, let her play with her dogs and feed her for us. We figured she'd be happier in our home with regular walks with someone she knows and loves than being boarded. And she did great, of course.

I was very disappointed with the last show. I showed up Sunday and the pickings were slim and way overpriced. Are they expecting a better turn out?
-
I'll be vending this show for the first time. Look forward to meeting/seeing you all. Come by Fat Boy's Ball Pythons table and say "Hi!!". :D

Re: Atlanta Repticon
I will have animals on Jason Brock’s table but I probably wont be able to go myself. :tears: I have two gigs on Saturday and I was planning on going Saturday morning but now my car is throwing radiator coolant for some reason. I may use Kathy’s car to shoot up for a few minutes on Sunday if I am not dead tired from the Saturday double dip. I hope everyone has a great time. :gj:

Re: Atlanta Repticon
I went to the one in Memphis. Excellent show with amazing animals on display. Please post some pics!
