    Is this a Fire???
I found someone selling what was listed as a femal Fire at a great price. They texted me a couple photos they took a few weeks ago, which I'll post below. They live about 20min away so I went and looked at it tonight. It is deep in shed so I didn't bother taking any pics. In the pics below, you can see that she has a bit of blushing on the black. I couldn't tell if she had the head spot because she was pretty opaque from getting ready to shed. She did have a clear belly except for maybe the last 2" of belly at the tail. I'm estimating that she is about 1000grams...I'd love to fatten her up and introduce her to my spider.

Sorry for the cruddy cell phone pics. What do you all think?

I'd say wait until she sheds out and then get another pic. but Right now I personally see a normal, no fire whatsoever. Even normals can have the back blushing and headspot, but if its overall body color is still wrong after it sheds I would say its definitely not a fire.

And if that's all that's in that snakes enclousure, a bowl. I feel sorry for it too.Hope there at least 1 hide on the other end of that tank.

Normal for sure. but depending on what they are asking and if she is a SHE might still be worth picking up?

    I don't see a fire either, just a nice looking normal :(

Did you pop it to make sure it was a female?

Thanks for everyones response. I know Fire's are subtle, but it felt very normal-ish to me except for the blushing and the clear belly. Still wondering if it's a normal or a really low quality fire.

It's owned by a teenage girl who had a pinstripe that was too nippy for her so she traded it for this "fire". She said she's not into it any more. It's in a 40gal aquarium with no hide and just a heat lamp. If you all think its a normal...then I will move on.

    Thanks

Oh yeah, asking price was $125 which woulda coulda been a steal...oh well. I was going to probe it before paying for it, but wasn't prepared to this evening because I was on my way home from work when I stopped to see it.

Thanks again for all the quick responses, this forum is awesome.

    I only see normal too.

I will say my fire female, who is not the best quality, looks very normal in shed. So, there is a slight chance it is a poor quality fire, but I would be very hesitant. My fire male on the other hand, who is very high quality, still looks like a fire even in shed. Bottom line, if you want a fire to make beautiful babies with, she is not the snake to use, if she even is a fire. Spend a little more and get a high quality girl.

Well the two pics I posted of the snake were her before shed, so thats as good as she gets. She looked really dark in shed when I saw her. I was just hoping for them to be right about the fire gene because she was at least 2 years old and was close to breeding size.

I contacted them yesterday and told them no thanks.

I also agree on normal. very ausome lookin girl but id probe or pop it before purchasing it to make sure its female. i bought a bp last year for 50 bucks. said it was a male and turned out to be female. external triats such as tail thickness and all that arent an exact science. good luck
