Incubator Thermostat question.
Would using a VE-100 be a significant problem in a mini-fridge incubator?
It's an on/off unit, as opposed to a proportional unit.

I feel the amount electricity it will save you over it's life it worth the money to upgrade alone"
Just fyi prop thermostat is not going to save money on electricty. They are constantly providing power
Re: Incubator Thermostat question.
i use a proportional. after all,,, you only need to buy it once:gj:

I had read something before that claimed props used less electricity over time, but I can't find the article now to cite it. So I went to the man himself for answers.

Hey Rich,
I've got kind of a random questions for you.
Do you think there any difference between the power consumption of a
on/off style thermostat versus a proportional one?

very, very little. I actually used a power meter to test that one time and the difference was negligible.

So I apologize, what I read before was incorrect about power consumption.
But I still stand by my statement that I feel extra temperature stability of proportional thermostat is worth the extra money.
