    new questions...
so im sure these answers are somewhere in the forums but there are so many iits just easier to ask my BP buddies...
    1. ok ive installed an acu-rite temp and humidity reader, my basking 90.3, my overall temp 83.1, and my humidity 63%. now here is the ????? should the cold side of the tank be the same as the overall temp or should it be colder???

The cooler side can be in the mid 80's it sounds good though thus far. As long as there's a warm side you should be good.

Yup, your setup sounds just about perfect. The cool side surface temps are going to be pretty well exactly the same as the air temps, and those are perfect. :)

    Re: new questions...
Basicaly the shed when they want no real set time. Our normal has shed twice in 2 months but he is growing real fast. What I have read says 3-4 times a year as an adult. You get your little guy to eat yet?

    Re: new questions...
OK first question is now do you have a temp gun. Second question what is the temp of the mouse and are you touching the mouse before feeding at all. YOu may have a scent or temp issue. I wear latex Gloves the whole time trying to feed I scent them with rat bedding and use the temp gun to make sure the rodent offered is about 100F. If you dont have a way in your home to scent your gloves try asking a pet store for some left over rat or gerbil bedding. Latex gloves are pretty cheap. Hope this helps you out I am routing for you he will get it just takes a little time:please:

P.S. every animal is different I would not be to worried yet. Like I said our petstore normal took about 3 weeks before he started eating and he decided he didnt want to eat last night. But our new pied girl was hungry :)

yeah i actually use gloves when i handle the FT. but i dont have a temp gun so im not sure if its warm enough or not. i touch it and when it dosnt feel cold anymore i try to give him it.

your BP sounds new, did you give it enough time to acclimate before trying to feed? also i wouldnt try feeding them in a tub or try until they start eating for you, i did this and he refused to eat everytime. I now just put paper or paper towels in his tank on feeding day rather than feeding him in a tub.

    Re: new questions...
yeah i left him in his tank for a week before trying to feed, ive had him for about 2 weeks, after he refused the 1st time i left him for another week. so this is the 2nd time trying in a tub...
im gonna try to get him used to eating with me then ill go to the tub, thx guys...

Perhaps its not warm enough, i recently feed my BP and he did defensive strikes and ignored it untill i made the mouse warm to the touch. also if he doesnt eat give him a week before feeding again or you could stress him out.
