Ohhh Nooooo.... the agony you must be in. I am surprised they didn't have to amputate the whole arm. You are very lucky to have survived such a vicious attack. :)
Ha I got knawed on by my hungry garter the other day, I just let him go at it. :) it was only after that I relaized I may be allergic to snake "saliva" as I broke out in a rash around where he bit me and there was a burning sensation where he had bit me....even hours after. Idk! Lol.
Gotta love that carpet attitude. Mine are usually puppy dog tame outside their tubs. Getting them out is the hard part.

Not so uncommon. Garters are very mildly venomous. People who are sensitive can have reactions similar to yours. Don't worry, you won't die to lose an arm over it.
