That's cool I have been thinking about trying a white since I found out that the seedless grapes I planted three years ago are seeded

What was your resource in learning about it?

I got the recipe for the blackberry wine from a good friend who was somewhat of a Arkansas "hillbilly". He had a heart attack and died back in '03... had told myself I would start making his "sippin' wine" at some point. I came across an old glass 5 gallon car boy a couple of weeks ago and decided it was time.
I have found alot of info by just google-ing "homemade blackberry wine", and there is a home brew wine/beer shop nearby that answered questions and supplied me the last few items I needed to get rolling.
So far so good, seems patience is going to be the hardest part.

6 months into the first batch and time to pull out of "bulk" aging and bottle off.

Has turned out very tasty, semi-sweet to sweet. Now if I can leave it alone for a few months...

My dad use to make his own beer (even grew his own hops). I always find the process fun to watch :)

100% of the blackberrys that I used were from the store, 60% fresh, the rest frozen. I also threw in a pound or so of strawberry/rasberry/blueberry blend. My recipe called for about 23lbs of fruit... it wasn't cheap.
Spend an hour or so online searching homemade wine... there are tons of sites, then when you determine what you want to do, search that and you'll find plenty of recipe ideas.
I am not sure about the kits... they are probably pretty fail-safe. I tried someones the other day and it was pretty weak.
I have read that strawberry is a great way (easy) to go as a first batch-with outstanding results... I am going to get one going here in the next couple of weeks.
