Does Anyone Know of Any Reputable Sites...

That sell snakes?

Some of the one we have looked through haven't been updated in a year or two or are trying to sell snakes for outrageous prices. We've clicked on a few links throughout the threads but if anyone knows of any, or can tell us what their experience was like when they ordered their snakes online that would be great :)

There are quite a few members here, myself included who have links to their sites in their signature section.

Ive mostly gotten all of my snakes through kingsnake.com classifieds. Or try our for sale section on the forums here.

Ordering online can be tricky, make sure you ask the right questions and have multiple photos of the animal your getting.
Out of 13 snakes Ive had no problems ordering online.

I would not recommend ordering animals from big box companies that sell ALL kinds of pets, I would much rather buy from a breeder specializing in Ball Pythons, or even just snakes for that matter.

As far as "outrageous prices" some morphs are very expensive and some breeders have better quality than others. It depends on what your looking for.

I thought $150 was outragious for a snake a few years back, knowing now that it's simply pocket change if you want good quality animals. Most female BPs don't sell for under $200 anyways.....

Here are the breeders I've dealt with. I recommend all of them. Some you may have better luck contacting via email or phone but they all have awesome babies for decent prices. Good luck!

Kingsnake is a great resource, but it doesn't mean that the person is reputable. To the OP, you should always check the seller out on Fauna's Board of Inquiry (BOI) before making a purchase.

No, the OP did not say he was looking for balls, and the post is under general herp.

What kind of snakes are you looking for, where have you been looking, and what prices do you consider "outrageous"?

I can understand sticker shock when you go onto someone's site and the first thing you see is their prize animal they've spent 6 years to produce, and it has an asking price of a couple Gs.

However, I doubt that was the exact snake you were looking for in the first place. You can find all types of snakes for sale online, for all price points.

I get a lot off fauna

I buy pretty much anything I'm looking for from kingsnake or fauna's classifieds. I also check the sites of people I've purchased from and been happy with before to see if they have what I need.

Definitely always use the BOI to check someone out first. And if there's no feedback on that particular person, don't be afraid to ask.

I've purchased two snakes from members on here, two from local breeders, and the rest have come from Justin Kobylka (jkobylkareptiles.com). I couldn't recommend him highly enough as one of the larger scale breeders. without question the best combination of quality and customer service that I've come across among the commercial breeders.

By "outrageous" I meant...$20,000 and up lol. No we weren't exactly shooting for some of those but it was still a bit mind-blowing. We realize that a few hundred or even a few grand is typical especially with certain morphs. But since we're just starting out owning snakes we didn't want to drop a crap ton of money on something we weren't 100% sure how to take care of yet.

Anywho, thanks again for all of these links, it'll be a lot easier now to look through them all and compare! :D

My available is empty, because most of my animals are selling as soon as I post pictures of them, and I have a few more that I want to have feeding before I post them. That may be why others also don't have links up. Like someone else said, e-mail the folks you are interested in, and see if they might have something they haven't posted yet that you're looking for. :)

Speaking of which, many of the animals I've acquired in recent years have also been from immediately contacting someone when they post pictures of babies they've just hatched out if I see something I may be interested in and inquire if they plan to hold the animal back, or will be selling it, ask the sex and the price.

Yeah I already got my Normal so I'm good. But my husband is the one that's been like looking and looking. I told him to make a list of the ones he really wants/is willing to put down money for so that he can specify to the sellers what he wants but he just keeps saying "Boas and Pythons" which doesn't help...at all.

So once that list is in order hopefully we can move forward in our search and come out with a great snake to include in our family :)

Check for a reptile show in your area, grab some cash and go check it out.
Dont let him impulse buy till the two of you have walked the whole show:gj:

I suggest doing a lot of research before you buy. There are so many different types of boas and pythons out there, from small to large. No matter what size you are looking for, you will find all sizes in both boas and pythons. Each type also has many other differences, such as color and pattern mutations and general personalities.
